Vandermoss, James

James R. Vandermoss, age 83 of Kewaunee died on July 23, 2014 at the Kewaunee Care Center. He was born on March13, 1931 in Angelica, WI to the late Ernest and Catherine (Blazier) Vandermoss.

He married Deloris Brault on May 30, 1953. James served in the U. S. Navy for four years. He drove truck for Schneider Transport most of his life until retiring. He also hobby farmed in the West Kewaunee and Bellevue for many years and enjoyed spending time up North with his friends and family.

Since retiring, Jim was known for making a daily, scheduled drive on his set route through Kewaunee.

Survivors include his wife, Deloris, of sixty-one years; one daughter and son-in-law: Linda and Ron Peterson, DePere; three sons and daughters-in-law: Dale (Whitey) and Robin Vandermoss, Kewaunee; Ernie and Kim Vandermoss, Kewaunee; Mike and Sally Vandermoss, Kewaunee; eight grandchildren: Kim (Jeff) Smith; Kris Suchocki; Ryan (Ashley) Vandermoss; Chelsea (Nathan) Schmidt; Ashlee (special friend, Tim) Vandermoss; Luke Vandermoss; Maria Vandermoss; Mitch Vandermoss; two great grandchildren: Kayla Suchocki; Derick Ratajczak; one brother and sister-in-law: Gordy and Lily Vandermoss, Suamico; two sisters-in-law: Gloria Vandermoss, Menasha; Audrey Brault, Neenah; a brother-in-law: Dick Jerovetz, Green Bay and numerous nieces and nephews. He was preceded in death by an infant brother: Marshell Vandermoss; one brother: Bob (Tiny) Vandermoss; three sisters: Bernice (J.C.) Stratton; Marie Jerovetz; Carol (Barney) Soquet.

Friends may call after 10:00 a.m. Saturday, July 26 at Buchanan Funeral Home, Kewaunee. A funeral service will be held at 1:30 p.m. by Dcn. Robert and Christal Wavrunek. Burial with full military rites will be held at Carlton Volunteer Cemetery.
