Stone, Robinette "Bobbye'
Robinette "Bobbye" Jean (Hackbarth) Stone, 88, formerly of Longview, passed away Sunday, July 27, 2014 in Denison, Texas.
Ms. Stone was born January 16, 1926 in Fond du Lac, Wisconsin, to Ervin and Dorothy (Petermann) Hackbarth. She grew up in Fond du Lac and attended the University of Wisconsin. Robinette was married to Gerald Stone and moved to Texas in 1948. That same year, she joined First Lutheran Church in Longview. She was the Primary Department Superintendent for 15 years, and enjoyed teaching the 4 year old class and singing in the choir. A voracious reader, Robinette loved political discourse and the National League Baseball. She was an accomplished seamstress and enjoyed creating ornate crochet pieces. She will be greatly missed by all who knew and loved her.
She was preceded in death by her parents, Erwin and Dorothy Hackbarth, son, Gerald David Stone, and sister, Elaine Hackbarth Hupfer.
Robinette is survived by her beloved family, daughter, Ann Stone Hanley of Denison, Texas; daughter-in-law, Syd and husband, Jeff Davidson of Elysian Fields, Texas; grandchildren, Jennifer Taylor and husband, Wesley of Kingwood, Texas, Elizabeth Hanley of Spicewood, Texas, David Davidson and wife, Casey of Elysian Fields, Texas, Matthew Hanley and wife, Beth of Denison, Texas, Sabrina Davidson of Longview, Texas; great- grandchildren, Ashley, Silas, Simeon, Deanna and William, sister, Germaine Christianson and husband, Jack of Green Bay, Wisconsin, and a host of nieces and nephews.
A memorial service will be at 1 p.m. Wednesday, July 30, 2014, at First Lutheran Church in Longview, Texas with the Rev. Jeff Borgwardt officiating. In lieu of flowers, memorials may be made to First Lutheran Church, 3901 Bill Owens Parkway, Longview, Texas 75605.
The family would like to thank the staff of Grayson Place Assisted Living in Denison, Texas for the compassion shown to Robinette during her stay.
