Myers, Stella V.
Stella Victoria Myers, nee Mikus, 93, of De Pere, passed away on Wednesday, July 30, 2014.
Stella was born on December 25, 1920 in Chicago. The daughter of the late Martin and Caroline (Kondziolka) Mikus. The loving wife of Robert Beal Myers, mother of Constance and Thomas. Stella was a graduate of Kelly High School in Chicago, never went to a university, yet was valedictorian of her high school and once read a speech about Abraham Lincoln on Chicago radio.
Stella cared about ideas and people, treated all with love, respect and dignity. She hated violence and prejudice in any form. She shared the heart and spirit of an earthly bond among all peoples. She supported many charities.
Stella loved Broadway musicals, particularly South Pacific and Oklahoma. The RKO films of Fred Astaire and Ginger Rogers were also favorites. She danced, sang, gave and celebrated her life. She was a diamond among gems. Her family and friends revered her. She was loved and loved back. Who can ask or receive more? Her love and legacy will persist as a sterling example of a life well lived.
A Memorial Mass for Stella and her son Tom will be celebrated on Saturday August 16, 2014 at 10am in Chicago at St. Josaphat Catholic Church, 2311 N. Southport. Interment will follow at 12pm in St. Mary Cemetery in Chicago. RYAN FUNERAL HOME & CREMATORY is assisting the family. Please visit www.ryanfh.com to send online condolences to Stella's family.
