Finnell, Judith A.

Judith A. Finnell, 78, Green Bay, died Saturday, August 2, 2014. She was born on August 27, 1935 in Green Bay to the late Romuald and Jean (Hogeboom ) Heitzkey. On April 12, 1958, she married William Finnell in Green Bay; he preceded her in death on November 19, 2012. Judith loved bowling, playing poker and going to the casino. She was a huge Packers fan and an awesome cook. Judith was the happiest when she was with her family and loved all of them very much. She worked at the Allouez Café as a cook and baker for many years and most recently as a greeter at Walmart. Judith was a member of Prince of Peace Catholic Church.

She is survived by her children, Lisa Melotte, and her children, Eric, Kayla, Karen (Jason) and Chrissy (Jason); Pat (Joan) Finnell, and their children, Stephanie, Nicole and Pat Jr.; Steven (Holly) Finnell, and their children, Cory (Jenna),Tanner and Anna; Candy (Greg) Cornell, and their son, Matt (Elisha); Nicholas (Pam) Finnell; and their children, Ashlee and Britney; step-daughter, Brenda (Mark) Salm, and their children, M.J. and Sarah; 15 great grandchildren; brothers, Bruce (Rosemary) Heitzkey; Victor (Sandy) Heitzkey; Greg (Jan) Heitzkey; sisters, Karen (James) Verdegan; Suzanne Denamur; sister-in-law, Beverly (William)Rhodes; and many other relatives and friends.

In addition to her parents and husband, she was preceded in death by, father-in-law and mother-in-law, Clarence and Eleanor Finnell; grandson, Randy Cornell; brother-in-law, Larry Denamur; nephews, Kevin Verdegan and Robbie Denamur; good friend, Randy "Big Randy" Cornell.

Friends may call at Prince of Peace Catholic Church, 3425 Willow Road, on Monday, August 11 from 10 to 11 a.m. Memorial Mass 11 a.m. Monday, August 11 at the church with Rev. Dan Viertel officiating. Interment in the Allouez Catholic Cemetery. Proko-Wall Funeral Home is assisting the family. Online condolences may be expressed at www.prokowall.com.

In lieu of other expressions of sympathy, a memorial fund is being established.

The family would like to thank Unity Hospice, especially Melanie and Kristen. A very special thank you to the Century Ridge staff as they became like family. Also a special thank you to Dr. Jules Blank and Dr. Edward Bongiorno for their kindness and compassion.
