Berkebile, Nicholas "Nick" J.

Nicholas "Nick" J. Berkebile, 34, Green Bay, passed away on Thursday morning, August 14, 2014 after a ten year battle with a brain tumor. He was born on February 23, 1980 in Green Bay to Jim and Valerie Berkebile. He was a graduate of Hillsboro High School in North Dakota with the class of 1998. He then earned his BS degree in Mechanical Engineering from Michigan Technological University in Houghton, MI. In March of 2005 he married Tanya Tomich, who he met in college, on the island of St. Kitts in the Caribbean. He loved working in the boating industry as a mechanical engineer. Nick found his dream job working at FABCO in Green Bay as a marine project manager. He enjoyed boating, playing hockey, golfing, traveling and listening to music. He will be sadly missed by his special canine companion, Layla. Nick was devoted whole heartedly to Tanya, the love of his life, and their 2 beautiful sons, Cooper James, age four and Traveler Crosby, age one.

He is survived by his loving wife, Tanya and their sons, Cooper James and Traveler Crosby, Green Bay; father, James (Lynn) Berkebile, Green Bay; mother, Val (Jim) Anderson, Hillsboro, ND; siblings, Brandi Anderson and Zachary Anderson, both of Hillsboro, ND; Leah (Glenn) Wavrunek, Washington, D.C.; Carrie Quinnell, and her children, Tyler and Emma, Pulaski; grandmother, Lois Weigelt, Fargo, ND; grandfather, Dick Boyer, Leesburg, FL; father-in-law, Robert Tomich, Menominee, MI; mother-in-law, Tina(Dennis) Schneider, Marinette; sisters-in-law, Michelle Tomich, Abrams; Kristi (Paul) Weaver, and their daughter, Samantha, Grand Haven, MI; Finn Schneider, San Francisco, CA; and many other aunts, uncles, relatives and friends.

He was preceded in death by his grandfathers, Glen Weigelt and William Berkebile; grandmother, Lois Boyer.

Friends may call at St. John's Lutheran Church, 2700 Babcock Rd., on Tuesday from 10:00 a.m. to 12:00 noon. Memorial Service 12:00 noon Tuesday at the church with Pastor Bruce Pangborn officiating. Proko-Wall Funeral Home is assisting the family. Online condolences may be expressed at
