Ostrenga, Toefil

Toefil "Phil" J. Ostrenga, 86, of Green Bay, died August 13, 2014. He was born on December 18, 1927 in the Town of Eaton to the late Walter and Anna (Jurczykowski) Ostrenga. On July 1, 1950, he married the former Joyce Marie VandenAvond at St. Philip the Apostle Catholic Church. Phil retired from James Rivers Corps (Day St.) in 1990. He loved softball, bowling (hit a 747 series), gardening, canning, lawn mowing, snow blowing and gambling.

Survivors include his daughter, Kathy (Bob) Duquaine; grandchildren and great-grandchildren, Cory, and his daughter, Dakota Elizabeth; Douglas and his children, Cody and Hailee Joy; Eric and his daughter, Kristin, Gregory (Katie) and their daughter, Lily; April (Fred) and their children, Marissa, Abby and Jacob; Michael (Lisa) and their son, Charlie; sisters, Edwina (Richard) Lealiou, Rita Kaster; brother, Raymond (Rita); brother-in-law, Clarence Van Pay; sister-in-law, Ardella VandenAvond; godchildren, Chester Van Pay, Stella Crabb, Donald Lealiou, Judith Rentmeester, Ann Polesky, and Diane Schultz; many other nieces, nephews, relatives and friends.

He was preceded in death by his wife, Joyce; parents-in-law, Henry and Mary VandenAvond; brothers, Edward and Mitchell; sisters, Regina (Thomas) Blan, Agnes (Joseph) Rebarchek, Rose Van Pay, Susan (Rueben) Ullman; brother-in-law, Calvin Kaster; and godchild, Mary Lou Ullman.

Friends may call at Proko-Wall Funeral Home, 1630 E. Mason St., on Sunday from 4 to 8 p.m. Parish Wake Service Sunday at 7 p.m. at the funeral home. Visitation will continue at St. Mary of the Angels Catholic Church, 645 S. Irwin Ave., Monday from 9:30 to 10: 30 a.m. Funeral Mass 10:30 a.m. at the church with Fr.
