Marguerite E. Klaubauf, 95 years, of Sturgeon Bay, was called to her eternal home early Monday morning, August 18, 2014, at Whispering Heights CBRF where she had resided the past six years.
She was born March 16, 1919, in Sturgeon Bay, the daughter of the late Michael and Mary (Brauer) Donovan. Marguerite graduated from Sevastopol High School. On September 18, 1948, she married Walter J. Klaubauf at S.S. Peter and Paul Catholic Church in Institute. He preceded her in death on April 28, 1999.
She had been an active member with Catholic Daughters of America, Holy Rosary Catholic Church in Kewaunee and its Rosary Society, and the VFW Auxiliary in Kewaunee.
Surviving family includes her three children and their families, Mary (Bob) Mow of Sturgeon Bay (and Mary's children, Darin (Kim) Lienau, Kristin (Paul) Polarek), John (Carol) Klaubauf of Sturgeon Bay (and their children, Tim (Laura) Klaubauf, Jeremy (Claudia) Klaubauf, Carrie (Eric) Romsos), Joe Klaubauf of Kewaunee; 11 great-grandchildren; three sisters-in-law, Leatrice "Toots" Klaubauf, Jeanette Schmitz, and Joyce Klaubauf.
Marguerite was preceded in death by her parents, Michael and Mary Donovan; two brothers, Marvin, Walter (Roseann) Donovan; two sisters, Doris (Joe) Schaefer, and Mary Ann (Charles) Jarman.
A Mass of Christian Burial will be celebrated at 11:00 a.m., Thursday, August 21, 2014, at St. Joseph Catholic Church in Sturgeon Bay with Fr. Bob Stegmann officiating. Entombment will follow at St. Joseph Cemetery Mausoleum.
Friends may call at the church, Thursday, from 10:00 a.m. until the time of Mass at 11:00 a.m.
Huehns Funeral Home of Sturgeon Bay is assisting the Klaubauf family with arrangements.
In lieu of flowers, memorials may be made in Marguerite's memory to Holy Rosary Catholic Church in Kewaunee, St. Joseph Catholic Church in Sturgeon Bay, and DOOR CANcer, Inc. at P.O. Box 23, Sturgeon Bay.
