Frederick J. Marcell, beloved husband, father, papa, 64, Green Bay, passed away Tuesday, August 26, 2014. He was born February 28, 1950, in Stambaugh, MI to Norman and Evelyn (Applin) Marcell.

Fred married Carla Whitney on October 28, 1972, in Oshkosh and together they had two children. He worked for AT&T for 36 years retiring on July 1, 2006. Fred loved being outdoors and was an avid hunter and fisherman. He thoroughly enjoyed playing cards, watching the Packers and secretly cheering on the Lions when they were not playing the Packers. He was a member of the Green Bay Jaycee's for 14 years, and volunteered for 10 years for the Miss Green Bay Area Pageant. Fred adored his grandchildren and cherished the time he got to spend with them, taking them fishing, doing crafts and fixing their toys.

Fred is survived by his wife, Carla; daughter, Kara (Michael) DeBraske, Green Bay; son, Jared (Malia) Marcell, Marietta, GA; two loving grandchildren, Eli and Emma DeBraske; brothers and sisters, Roland (Nancy), Iron Mountain, MI; Don, Edward (Dianna), Norman Thomas (Sandy), all of Iron River, MI; Mary Kay (James) Shepich, Caspian, MI; William (Stephani), Keams Canyon, AZ; Elizabeth (James) Willis, Dixie, GA; mother-in-law, Dorothy Whitney Eilertson, Oshkosh; brothers-in-law, Craig (Robin) Whitney and Chris (Linda) Whitney, all of Oshkosh; and several aunts, uncles, nieces and nephews.

He was preceded in death by his parents, Norman and Evelyn Marcell.

Friends may call at Blaney Funeral Home, 1521 Shawano Ave., from 10 a.m. to 12 noon Friday. The Funeral Service will be held at 12 noon Friday at the funeral home with Chaplain Robert Nooker officiating. Burial will be in Fort Howard Memorial Park. To send online condolences, please go to

The family would like to extend a very special heartfelt thank you to the staff of Cardiology Associates at Bellin Health, especially Dr. R. Verma; the ICU Critical Care, Dr. Dale Davis and his staff; and Dr. Thomas Smith, Nephrologist and the staff of Davita Fox River Dialysis Clinic.
