Joseph "Corky" Sikorski, 88, Sobieski, died Saturday morning, February 11, 2012, at his home, with his family at his side. The son of Joseph, Sr. and Anna (Kuilik) Sikorski was born March 3, 1923, on the family farm in Sobieski, where he lived and farmed all of his life. On June 8, 1948, he married Rose Mary Pioro at St. John Cantius Church in Sobieski. He was a member of the parish, and had served as an usher for 12 years. Joe helped to build the new church after the old church was destroyed by fire.

Corky was an avid deer hunter. He enjoyed riding his 4-wheeler and his green tractors. He loved his family and his dogs, Cooper and Prince.
He is survived by his wife, Rose Mary Sikorski; his son, Brian Sikorski, Sobieski; sisters-in-law and brothers-in-law; Ann Sikorski, Chicago, IL, Helen Sikorski, Krakow, Florence Sikorski, Krakow, Helen (Louis) Kobylarczyk, Sobieski, and Mary Ann (Al) Wilinski, Sobieski; many nieces and nephews, and friends.
He was preceded in death by his parents; five brothers; Stanley (Josephine), Walter, Bernard (Monica), Louis, and Chester; two sisters; Helen (John) Shutty and Josephine (Walter) Bochenek.
Friends may call at Marnocha Funeral Home, Pulaski from 4:00 - 7:00 p.m. Wednesday. Wake Service at 4:30 p.m. The visitation continues at 9:30 a.m. Thursday at St. Maximilian Kolbe Church, 6051 Noble St., Sobieski. The Funeral Mass will be celebrated at 10:30 a.m. Thursday at the church, Fr. Gerald Prusakowski, O.F.M. presiding with burial in the parish cemetery.
