Gordon 'Gordy' Harvey Lenz, age 70, Howard, passed away at his home June 9th, 2012.
He was born Oct. 31, 1941 at St. Mary's Hospital, Green Bay, WI the son of the late Harvey and Mae Lenz. He lived in Manitowoc until 1946 when he moved to Green Bay. He served in the USMC from 1960-1963 and was honorably discharged. After returning from the USMC he married the love of his life, Ann M Wautlet, on May 29, 1965. They enjoyed over 47 years together. Gordon started in the insurance business in 1963 under the name The Health Insurance Agency until 1970 when he changed the name to Gordon H. Lenz and Associates. He enjoyed his time and achievements with the Boy Scouts and accomplished his Eagle award and served as district chairman for 5 years. He became active with the Brown County Home Builders Association in October 1967 and became a board member of the association in 1970 and served in the position until 2005. While with the builders association he was associate of the year both local and state; membership chairperson for three years on the state level and four years on local level. He was a board member of BCHBA for over 20 years. He received the leading producers of the round table from the Health Underwriters Association for 43 consecutive years. In addition was awarded the presidents award from American Medical Security for seven years and the Merit award for over ten years with Time Insurance. He was a member of the Health and Life Underwriters association since 1963 and also the long range planning council for the village of Howard. He joined the Nifty Fifties car club in 1986 and has stayed active until his passing. One of his favorite pastimes was driving and going to car shows with his cars. He was baptized, married and attended Grace Lutheran Church in Green Bay.
Gordy is survived by his loving wife, Ann M. (Wautlet) Lenz, his two children Jeffrey G. Lenz and James R. Lenz of Green Bay, his only grandson, Justin R. Lenz; and his brother, Russ (Sandy) Lenz.
He was preceded in death by his parents, Harvey and Mae Lenz; his sister, Gini Pettus.
