Mrs. Walter (June Isabelle Kuske) Charles, 86, De Pere, died Tuesday, October 2, 2012. She was born July 3, 1926, to Lawrence and Philipine (Williquette) Kuske. June graduated from Green Bay West High School. On October 2, 1948, she married Walter Joseph Charles at Annunciation Catholic Church. June was a homemaker and her cinnamon rolls were one of the many homemade desserts that graced her table. She was active as a Den Mother when her children were young and later volunteered at St. Mary's Hospital. June was an avid bowler and enjoyed bowling in both women's and couples' leagues. She loved her grandchildren and great-grandchildren and enjoyed the family gatherings during the holidays and birthdays.
Survivors include her husband, Walter; four children and their spouses, Michael and Holly Charles, Terry and Rose Charles, John and Bonnie Charles, Melissa and Bill Peeters; eleven grandchildren, Sarah (CJ) Langjahr, Joel (Katie) Charles, Megan (Eric) Rentmeester, Brianne Charles, Alison and Emilee Charles, Drew and Alex Charles, Kyle, Ben and Cole Peeters; one great-grandson, Luke Langjahr; four great-granddaughters, Hanah Langjahr, Anna and Alaina Rentmeester, Skylar Peeters; one brother, two sisters and their spouses, Wilbert "Whitey" and Lois Kuske, Evelyn and Bill Kamps, Carol and Bruce Anderson; two brothers-in-law and two sisters-in-law, Edward Giesler, Robert "Vie" and Gloria Charles, Cordellia "Corky" Charles; other relatives and friends.
She was preceded in death by her parents; one brother, Melvin "Bud" Kuske; and one sister-in-law, Carol Kuske.
Friends may call at Blaney Funeral Home, 1521 Shawano Ave., from 4 to 7 p.m. Friday, October 5. There will be a Parish Wake Service at 7 p.m. Friday. Friends may also call at St. Francis Xavier Catholic Church, 220 S. Michigan St., De Pere, from 10 to 11 a.m. Saturday, October 6. The Mass of Christian Burial will be celebrated at 11 a.m. Saturday at the church with the Rev. Richard Getchel officiating. Burial will be in St. John the Baptist Catholic Cemetery, Howard.
