After watching her beloved Packers win one final game, Eldora "DoDo" V. Liebl, 89, died suddenly and peacefully at her home in Luxemburg, Monday morning Oct. 1, 2012. She was born Oct. 29, 1922, in Racine, to the late George and Anna (Mulqueen) Kerst, and was raised in Luxemburg, by the late Louis and Viola (Kuester) Sell Family. On Feb. 20, 1943, DoDo married Ray Liebl in Green Bay. He preceded her in death Oct. 22, 2011. DoDo was professionally trained as a comptroller and worked at Standard Oil until the end of World War II. She was a secretary at Luxemburg High School and subsequently was employed as the receptionist for the Luxemburg Medical Clinic for 25 plus years. Dodo was a 60 year member of the American Legion Auxiliary in Luxemburg, a member of the Chamber of Commerce, honored with the Annual Community Service Award in 1984 and a member of St. John Lutheran Ladies Aid Society and St. John Lutheran Church. She orchestrated and was the Chairman of the annual blood drive in Luxemburg for many years. Her enjoyments included playing bridge with her club of over 50 years, watching the Packers, Badgers and Brewers. She was also an avid golfer.
Survivors include her four children, Scott (Maureen O'Connor) Liebl, Oconto Falls; Brad Liebl, Cape Town South Africa; Pam (Rob) Belden, Waterford; Peggy Schutte, Grapevine, Texas; eight grandchildren, Ryan Aubrie, Ciara, Libby, Danny, Lauren, Meghan and Rachel; one nephew, two nieces and special relatives, Anita (Joe) DuChateau and John Christofferson.
DoDo was preceded in death by one son, Danny Liebl; one son-in-law, Larry Schutte; two sisters, Olive Srnka, Georgianna (Robert) Bazlen; special relatives, Betty Christofferson and Don (Mary) Sell.
Friends may call between 9 and 10:50 a.m. at St. John Lutheran Church, 700 Heritage Road, Luxemburg, WI. 54217, Friday Oct. 5, 2012. Funeral 11 a.m. at the church with the Rev. Carl Brewer officiating. Burial in St. Mary Cemetery, Luxemburg.
