Amundsen, Jennye V.

Jennye V. Amundsen, 93, of Elgin formerly of Mount Prospect, Green Bay, Wis. and Birmingham, Ala., passed away on Tuesday, Oct. 2, 2012, at her home. Jennye was born in Villa Rica, Ga., on Nov. 20, 1918. She was the daughter of the late James and Jennie (nee Summerville) Liner. On Dec. 28, 1946, she married Norman A. Amundsen. Norman passed away on Aug. 15, 2005, after 58 years of marriage. Prior to she and Norman starting their family, Jennye attended business college and worked as a Paralegal. She was a World War II United States Navy Veteran.

Survivors include her children, Joseph (Gwen) Veras, Karen (Robert) Fitton, Kevin (Teresa) Amundsen and Andrea (Mark) Demel. Jennye is also survived by her seven grandchildren and four great-grandchildren.

In addition to her parents and husband, Jennye was preceded in death by her four siblings.

Funeral Services will be held on Saturday at 11 a.m. in the Miller Funeral Home, West Dundee. Burial will be in Birmingham, Ala.
