Wanda Pochron, 86, Howard, passed away on Saturday, October 6, 2012. She was born in Pulaski on Oct. 29, 1925 to the late Frank and Tilly (Safian) Piontek. Wanda married Edward Pochron on Nov. 22, 1952 at St. Patrick Church in Green Bay. He preceded her in death on May 5, 2009. She worked taking care of the nuns at St. Francis Cathedral Parish and also worked at Pulaski Shoe Factory and Larsen Canning Company. Wanda was a collector of angels and enjoyed gardening, flowers, shopping, Polka music, and loved birds, especially cardinals. She was an active member of St. John the Baptist Church.
Survivors include her children, Gary (Lisa) Pochron, Shawano; Richard Pochron, Howard; Leonard (Christina) Pochron, Howard; Bernard Pochron, Suamico and Special Family Friend Dan Tremble, Suamico; grandchildren, Tiffany Pochron, Conover, WI; Phillip Pochron and fiancée Amanda Sadowsky, Bonduel; Captain Sara (Major David) Jansch, Great Falls, Montana; Ben Gerondale, Howard; Kaitlyn Pochron, Howard; great grandchildren, Zane and Miana Pochron-Miller; Ethan and Anna Jansch; brother, Edward Piontek, Pulaski; sister, Dorothy (Anthony) Horkman, Howard; sister-in-laws, Sister Relinette, Chicago; Alice Piontek, Suamico. Further survived by numerous nieces, nephews, other relatives and friends.
Wanda was preceded in death by her parents; brothers, Anthony, Ervin, John and Jake; numerous brother and sister-in-laws.
Family and friends may call at the Pfotenhauer Funeral Home & Cremation Service, Howard-Suamico location, 1145 Cardinal Lane, on Wednesday, Oct. 10 from 4 until 7:00 p.m. and on Thursday at St. John the Baptist Catholic Church, 2561 Glendale Ave., Howard, after 10:00 a.m. Mass of Christian Burial 11:00 a.m. Thursday at the church with the Rev. A memorial fund has been established in Wanda's name at the funeral home.
