Marilyn Glander, 80, Crivitz resident, died Thursday with her family by her side. She was born July 11, 1932, in Neenah, Wis. Born Marilyn Emily Hanson, daughter of Clarence and Viola Hanson (Kunschke). Marilyn grew up in Neenah Wis., after high school she attended Milwaukee Business College. Marilyn worked for Chain Belt in Milwaukee. She married Ben Glander on Feb. 27, 1954. Together they shared 58 years of love, commitment and dedication to each other. Together they had three children. Ben and Marilyn moved to Crivitz, in 1966 and enjoyed the woods, lake and wildlife that surrounded them. Marilyn was an avid hunter and outdoors woman. In 1984, she won the Big Buck Contest for her 8 point, 186 pound field dressed buck. As a golfer, she attained the achievement of a Hole in One along with her many trophies at High View Golf Course. Marilyn worked for the Town of Stephenson Election Board for many years. Marilyn's greatest achievement was her dedication to her family.
She is survived by her children, Diane Shaffer, Green Bay; Mark (JoAnn) Glander, Crivitz; and Corrine (Ronald) Vercauteren, Suamico. She is also survived by nine grandchildren, Jodi, Jenny, Katie, Kasey, Kelsy, Becky, Anthony, Marion and Abigale; six great-grandchildren, Logan, Griffin, Ainsley, Hailey, Layla, Kilee. She is further survived by her sister, Carol Birling, Neenah;, many nieces and nephews.
She was preceded in death by her parents, Clarence and Viola Hanson; her brother, Rob Hanson; and her son-in-law, Anthony Shaffer.
Marilyn lived a full life and will be missed deeply by Ben and her children. Mom, rest well in a better place and know that you have been loved and have loved in return.
Services will be held at Grace Lutheran Church, Crivitz, Wis., on Monday, Nov. 19, 2012. Visitation will be at 10 a.m. with a service of Christian Burial at 1 p.m. Please visit www.rhodescharapata.com for condolences and video tribute
