Schwarz, Gladys H.
The Guest Book is expired.
Gladys May Hume was born May 1, 1923 in Chilton, Wisconsin. In August of 1944, she became Mrs. Edgar G. Schwarz when she married her high school sweetheart in a simple war time wedding. While Ed was overseas in Patton's infantry, Gladys worked for the U.S. Navy Department in Manitowoc where they built and launched 18 submarines into the Great Lakes. After the war, Gladys and Ed moved to the Milwaukee area. When Ed died in 1979, Gladys expressed her loss and grief by ministering to others through her parish, Holy Family, especially to those who were sick, homebound or widowed. In 2009, Gladys moved to Green Bay to be near her youngest daughter, and frequently attended daily Mass where she was a prayer warrior for her family, her friends, her country and her world.
She is survived by three daughters, Mary Ellen (Robert E.) White of Colorado Springs, CO, Carol Ann (Robert L.) Jasien of Plano, TX and Jeanne Marie (John) Geigel of Green Bay; grandchildren, Carolyn Tarr, Stephen and Jonathan White, Julie Warner, Robert L. Jasien, Jr. and Anastasia Geigel; great-grandchildren, Christian, Brennen and Asher Tarr, Jessica Warner, Cormac, Fletcher and Regan White; two sisters, Alicia Reitman of Milwaukee and Jacqueline Kasbum of Madison; one sister-in-law, Marion Hume of Michigan, who will all remember her as an active, selfless, fun loving woman of great courage, compassion and wit.
Also preceded in death by her parents and one brother, Arthur "Bud" Hume.
