Darlene R. Hallet, 73, Green Bay resident, died unexpectedly Friday, December 28, 2012 at her home. She was born February 28, 1939 in Green Bay to the late Killian and Evelyn (Petiniot) Metzler. Darlene attended Luxemburg-Casco High School graduating in 1957. She married William Hallet on August 23, 1958. Darlene was employed at UWGB and Channel 5 until starting her own business, Northbrook Realty. She owned and operated Northbrook Realty until her retirement. Darlene was an active member of the Brown County Housing Authority and was past president of the Green Bay Board of Realtors. She was currently active in the LIR (Learning in Retirement) program at UWGB, the Green Bay Exchange Club, Luxemburg-Casco Community Band and volunteered at the Weidner Center. Darlene traveled the world, played cards and served as Treasurer of the Shorewood Ladies Golf League. She enjoyed her monthly get togethers with the birthday club and driving her Mustang convertible. Most of all Darlene cherished her time with her children and grandchildren and loved attending all the grandchildren's activities. She was a longtime member of SS Peter & Paul Parish.
Darlene is survived by her four children: Michael Hallet and his special friend Brenda Klaubauf, Sturgeon Bay; Dave (Lois) Hallet, New Franken; Debra (Dennis) Wittrock, Green Bay and Guy Hallet and his special friend Gay Bultman, Luxemburg; her grandchildren: Steve, Katie (Adam), Brittany, Adam, Brooke, Alesha, Kyle, Amber, Devon and Tyler; two great grandchildren, Addisen and Kailyn; her close special friend, Cyril Cieslewicz; ten brothers and sisters: Nancy (Don) Laubenstein; Lucille (Dan) Stahl; Richard (Vivian) Metzler; Karl (Ruth) Metzler; Andy (Donna) Metzler; LeRoy Metzler; Larry (Chris) Metzler; Ken (Debbie) Metzler; Ron (Robin) Metzler and Cheryl Metzler; one aunt Geraldine Buhr, two Godchildren, Brian Stahl and Rhonda Martinez; many nieces and nephews; her former husband and children's father, William (Pat) Hallet.
Friends may call at the Proko-Wall Funeral Home, 1630 E. Mason St. from 4:00 - 8:00 pm Wednesday. Parish wake service 7:00 pm Wednesday. Visitation will continue on Thursday at SS Peter and Paul Catholic Church after 10:00 am until time of Mass. Funeral Mass 11:00 am at the church with Fr. Tony Cirignani OFM officiating.
