Donald L. Cyganek, 85, died Thursday, January 31, 2013. He was born October 31, 1927, in Milwaukee to Louis and Martha (Krueger) Cyganek.
Don had served in the U.S. Merchant Marines during WWII. On July 10, 1948, he married Ruth Soike at St. John Cantius Catholic Church, Milwaukee. Don was a member of the Knights of Columbus and was a member of the 4th Degree Marquette Assembly #1197.
Don is survived by his wife, Ruth; his son, Louis J. Cyganek, his daughter and son-in-law, Carol and David Rusch; six grandchildren, Jennifer Burke, Paul Cyganek, John Cyganek, Chad (Andria) Rusch, Sarah (Joe) Danes, Amy (Trent) Schelkopf; eight great-grandchildren; two brothers and sisters-in-law, Robert (Barbara) Cyganek, and Thomas (Gwen) Cyganek.
Don was preceded in death by a daughter-in-law, Mary E. Cyganek.
Friends may call at St. Philip the Apostle Catholic Church, 312 Victoria St., from 9 to 11 a.m., Wednesday. The Mass of Christian Burial will be held at 11 a.m. Wednesday at the church with Rev.
