Kudick, Melvin H.

Melvin H. Kudick, 80, of 3600 Yorkshire Ln. Manitowoc, former Mishicot resident, entered into eternal life on Tuesday, Feb. 12, 2013, at the Holy Family Memorial Medical Center of Manitowoc. Melvin was born Feb. 7, 1933, in Kewaunee Co., to the late Gustav and Irene Habeck Kudick and has been a lifelong area resident. He served his country in the United States Army during the Korean Conflict. Melvin married the former Elizabeth "Betty" Eis on Sept. 1, 1956, at Holy Cross Catholic Church in Mishicot. She preceded him in death on Nov. 7, 2006. Melvin worked for the Hamilton Mfg. Co. and later for the Schwartz Mfg. Co. as a machinest for many years. After his retirement he enjoyed helping his brother, Gordy Kudick at Mishicot Auto. He was an avid Green Bay Packer fan, and enjoyed riding his moped, and driving his "Buick's" and his other cars. He was a member of Redeemer Lutheran Church, of Manitowoc, and was also a member of the Mishicot VFW Kempen-Staudinger-Terens Post # 7753.

Survivors include his twin daughters, Kay (Ed) Weatherford, and Kim Guehlstorf, of Dallas, Texas; four grandchildren, Trent, Logan, Meredith, and Jordan; two brothers, Karl (Jeanette) Kudick, Elkhorn, Wis.; Gordy (Judy) Kudick, Mishicot; four sisters, Melva Fager, Marian Raduenz, Garnet (Marvin) Dahlke, all of Luxemburg, Wis.; Caroline Everson, Two Rivers. He is further survived by his brother-in-law and sisters-in-law, Gary and Cindy Eis, Mishicot; Julia Kudick, Denmark; and by his nieces, and nephews. In addition to his parents, and his wife, he was also preceded in death by one brother, Vernand Kudick, and by three brothers-in-law.

Funeral services will be held at 3 p.m. on Saturday, Feb. 16, 2013, at Redeemer Lutheran Church, 1712 Menasha Ave., Manitowoc, with the Reverend Eric Kolonich officiating, followed by military services accorded by the Mishicot VFW Kempen-Staudinger-Terens Post #7753. Burial will take place in the Holy Cross Parish Cemetery in Mishicot. Relatives and friends may call after 1 p.m. on Saturday at the church, until the time of service at 3 p.m. The Lambert-Eckert Funeral Home of Mishicot is assisting the Kudick family with funeral arrangments.
