Michelle Messenger, 41, Green Bay, Wis. passed away unexpectedly due to complications from a stroke on Wednesday, Feb. 20, 2013, with her family by her side. She was born on Feb. 23, 1971, in Menominee, Mich. to Arnold and Norma (Bartz) Organ. Michelle graduated from Marinette Catholic Central High School class of 1989; Marquette University with a Bachelors Degree and from Viterbo University with a Masters Degree. Michelle is a member of St. John the Baptist Catholic Church and a teacher at Howe Elementary School in Green Bay, Wis. She loved to surround herself with her family and friends. Her passions included teaching, reading and the love of animals. Her final gift to others was being an organ donor.
Michelle is survived by her parents, Arnold and Norma Organ, Menominee, Mich; two children, Ella and Nathan Messenger, Green Bay, Wis. and their father, Jeff Messenger; one sister, Debra Mathy, Green Bay, Wis.; two brothers, Thomas (Jeanmarie) Organ, Tarpon Springs, Fla.; and Robert (Jill) Organ, Milwaukee, Wis.; nieces and nephews, Katie, Tommy and Sean Organ; Kayla, Tim, Brad and Emily Mathy; and Sarah, Lindsey and Elizabeth Organ.
Family and friends may call at the Cadieu-Thielen Funeral Home on Sunday, Feb. 24, 2013, from 4 p.m. until 7 p.m. with prayer services at 6:30 p.m. by Deacon Steve Gretzinger. A Mass of Christian Burial will be celebrated for Michelle at Resurrection Parish, 2607 18th Street, Menominee, MI 49858 on Monday, Feb. 25, 2013, at 11 a.m. Fr. Jamie Ziminski will preside. Burial will be in Riverside Cemetery in Menominee.
Michelle's family asks that all acts of kindness and sympathy be directed towards a memorial fund in Michelle's name to:
