Ronald J. Stimart, 95, Green Bay resident, passed away on March 11, 2013 at Carrington Manor. He was born on June 11, 1917 in Green Bay to the late Frank and Catharine (Basten) Stimart. Ronald was a Green Bay East High graduate where he excelled in athletics, especially football and track and field. After graduation he worked several years at Murphy Supply Company. In 1941, Ronald enlisted in the U.S. Army and served in World War II being stationed in Alaska and Italy. After his honorable discharge in 1945, he returned home and resumed his career with Murphy Supply Company working in the warehouse as a receiving clerk until his retirement at the age of 65. On August 24, 1946, he married Arlene Duquaine at St. Francis Xavier Cathedral in Green Bay. Ronald enjoyed playing golf and traveling. He was a Packers fan and practiced alongside of the team at City Stadium while he was a member of the East High football team.
He is survived by his children, Patrick (Fran) Stimart, Bainbridge, IN; Kenneth (Sandy) Stimart, Vallejo, CA; Colette (Glen) Uphill, New Franken; grandchildren, Amanda Stimart, Allison (Brian) Cook, Marci (Chris) Skaletski and Carli Uphill; great grandchild, Eliza Skaletski; and other relatives and friends.
In addition to his parents, he was preceded in death by his wife, Arlene.
Friends may call at the Allouez Chapel Mausoleum (Atrium), 2121 Riverside Dr., on Saturday, March 23, 2013 from 10 to 11 a.m. Funeral service 11 a.m. Saturday at the mausoleum with Funeral Celebrant Alex Bahrke officiating. In lieu of other expressions of sympathy, a memorial fund is being established.
