Arthur Charles Jansen, 74, of Green Bay passed away Saturday, March 23, after a long illness.

He was born in Milwaukee to Alphons and Angeline Jansen. He attended Bellefontaine, OH High School where he was senior class president and also attended Marquette University for Engineering. He served in the Army at Fort Lewis, WA.

Art worked at Fort Howard Paper for 21 years as marketing services manager and director of advertising and sales promotion. He also worked as director of marketing/communication Duo-Fast Corporation, as well as stints with the Wisconsin Better Business Bureau and Profit Counselors.

Art was a gifted writer who used poetry and letters to express his love. He enjoyed gardening, football, puzzles and spending time with his dog Buddy. He was happiest when surrounded by his family and friends.

Survivors include his wife of 51 years, Judy; 5 children, Jeff, Houston, TX; Mark (Mary), Palm Coast, FL; Dan (Patti), New Franken; Sheri (Eugene) Rycerz, Columbia, SC; Mike (Jessica), Appleton; nine grandchildren, Matt, Houston, TX; Nick, Lynchburg, VA; Chris, Los Angeles, CA; Melissa (Joshua) Magaurn, Maui, HI; Katie, Kyle and Kevin all of Green Bay; Lexi and Bryce, Appleton. He is also survived by a brother-in-law, Jim (Cindy) Collard; a sister-in-law, Bonnie Collard; and nieces and nephews.

He was preceded in death by his parents, his brothers, Donald (Lisa), Richard (Mary), Kenneth and James (Millie), his sister, Kay Goemer Peckham, and in-laws Art and Esther Collard and Tom Collard.

Friends and family are invited to join Art's family to say goodbye from 10 a.m. to noon Tuesday at St. John the Baptist Catholic Church, 2597 Glendale Ave. (one quarter mile east of the corner of Cardinal Ln. and Glendale Ave.).
