Bigfire, David A.
David A. Bigfire, 44, Village of Howard, passed away on Wednesday, April 17, 2013 at St. Mary's Hospital in Green Bay, after a long battle of cancer. He was born in Green Bay on January 30, 1969 to the late Elmer J. Bigfire Jr. and JoAnn Bigfire (Van Ven Roy). David attended Bay Port High School and graduated in 1987 from Southwest High School. He enlisted in the Army and was stationed in Germany from 1987 to 1990. He was honorably discharged in 1990. He married Lisa A. Wessley on July 17, 1993 at St. Joseph Catholic Church in Oneida, WI and together raised their three children. He was a resident of the Village of Howard for 13 years. David was employed at Pancake Place as a prep cook for the last four years. Prior to that, he held various positions at Richco and Stock Lumber.
David was an avid Badger fan. He enjoyed gambling, going up north to Michigan, playing cards and cribbage, and babysitting. He liked helping at the Optimist pancake and porkie breakfast at River's Bend. More than anything, he especially enjoyed spending time with his family and pets, Sheila and Rukus. He was always skeeming up ways to make money and he liked his "Bud". He was always a good friend, there when you needed him. He was stubborn to the end.
Survivors include: his loving wife of 19 years, Lisa A. Bigfire (Wessley); his children, Michael, Amber and Joshua; his mother, JoAnn Bigfire; his sisters, Julie (Steve) Bannow, Janet Bigfire, and Lisa Bigfire (Shane Skenandore); uncles, Gene Van Ven Roy and Joseph Bertrand; his In-laws, Carroll and Otis Wessley; and his grandmother, Stella Bigfire.
