Edwin H. (Archie) Gill, age 78, died peacefully at home surrounded by loved ones on Thursday, April 18, 2013. He was born on May 21, 1934 in Green Bay. Ed served his country in the U.S. Navy during the Korean Conflict. On June 14, 1964 he married the love of his life, Audrey. She preceded him in death on October 16, 2011. Together they raised nine children. Ed retired from Proctor & Gamble in 1997. He touched many lives through his association with the 218 Club. For years, he was a special donor at the Red Cross.
Edwin enjoyed fishing with his children and playing cards with the family and his lady friends at Susies. He was an avid reader and Chicago Bears football fan much to the dismay of his children. Sorry Dad, we all secretly knew you loved the Packers. Ed enjoyed spending time with his grandchildren and great grandchildren. None ever were allowed to leave without a kiss from Grandpa.
Survivors include his children, Bonita Samp, Cindy (Darryl) Kosky, Pam (Jim) Van Bogart, Randy (Cindy) Zander, Renee (Ralph) Luedke, Debbie (Bob) Nechodom, Todd (Elizabeth) Gill, Michelle (Dave) Schneider, Shon (Christine) Gill; grandchildren, Scott, Steve (Sara), Dara (Wes), Nick (Julie), Kim, Joe (Jen), Trisha (Chris), Jeffrey, Tyler (Sheila), Heather (Andy), Jared (Tanya), Ryan (Kelsey), Megan (Eric), Justin (Olivia), Matt, Jackie, Anna (Reagan), Laura (Mike), Mason, Holiday, Brandt and Collin; great-grandchildren, Tucker, Gavin, Keifer, Jonathon, Landon, Valerie, Mackenzie, Tanner, Joshua, Julia, Evan, Ben, Connor, Carter, Cadence, Adison, Braelyn, Jameson, Rylee; sisters, Ermine and Anna; brothers, Larry and George.
He was preceded in death by his wife, Audrey; mother, Lillian; granddaughter, Nicole; great-grandson, Riley; son-in-law, Floyd; sister, Lillian; brothers, Frank and Wilbur.
Visitation will be held on Sunday, April 21, 2013 at Lyndahl Funeral Home, 1350 Lombardi Avenue, from 4:00 pm until 7:00 pm. Visitation will continue again on Monday, April 22 at Pilgrim Lutheran Church, 1731 St. Agnes Drive, from 12:00 pm until the funeral service at 1:00 pm with Reverend Scott Malme officiating. Military honors will follow. Interment will be at Kunesh Cemetery. Online condolences may be expressed at www.lyndahl.com.
In lieu of flowers, a memorial fund has been established in Ed's name.
