Marion M. Nonnemacher, age 92, a Manitowoc resident died on Saturday, May 4, 2013 at St. Mary's Home in Manitowoc.
Marion was born on May 9, 1920 in Antigo, daughter of the late Anton and Lillian (Walzak) Noskowiak. She married Elmer Nonnemacher, the love of her life on August 29, 1939 in Antigo. He preceded her in death on August 31, 2001 after 62 years of marriage. Marion worked at Lincoln High School, in Manitowoc, for many years. She was a member or St. Boniface Catholic Church (Now St. Francis of Assisi), a member of the Daughters of Isabelle and the St. Clare Society. Marion was the loving mother of three children: Eugene Nonnemacher (deceased), Betty Naumann and Robert Nonnemacher. She was a sister to 9 brothers and sisters and was the Matriarch of the family. Marion was known for her wonderful cooking and baking abilities, especially for her Raspberrry Kuchan (from raspberries that she grew in her own garden).
She is survived by her two children: Betty Naumann, Green Bay, Robert Nonnemacher, Manitowoc; five grandchildren: Jeff (Mary) Nonnemacher, Jennifer Nonnemacher, Tim (Anne) Naumann, Cindy (Joe) VanderMeer; six great grandchildren: Megan Nonnemacher, Nichole Nonnemacher, Conner Naumann, Erin Naumann, Jacob Nonnemacher and Allison VanderMeer; one sister: Joan Jacobson, Antigo; and two sisters-in-law: Betty Noskowiak, Antigo, and Louise Noskowiak, Ohio. Many nieces, nephews, other relatives and friends also survive. She was preceded in death by her husband Elmer Nonnemacher; one son: Eugene Nonnemacher; one daughter-in-law: Joan; one grandson: Steven Nonnemacher; one great grandson: Mark Eugene Nonnemacher; her parents: Anton and Lillian Noskowiak; father-in-law and mother-in-law: Joe and Anna Nonnemacher; on sister and brother-in-law: Alice and Jerome Janssen; seven brothers and four sisters-in-law: Thomas and Angeline Noskowiak, Anthony and Bernice Noskowiak, Daniel Noskowiak, Paul and Cecelia Noskowiak, Frank and Agnes Noskowiak, Henry Noskowiak and Eugene Noskowiak.
Funeral Services will be held at 11:00 a.m. on Saturday, May 11, 2013 at St. Francis of Assisi on Grand. Officiating at the Mass of Christian Burial will be the Rev. William Van Dynhoven with burial at Calvary Cemetery to follow.
The family will greet relatives and friends on Saturday, May 11, 2013 at St. Francis of Assisi on Grand from 9:00 a.m. until 10:45 a.m.
