Galen J. Vincent, 78, of Green Bay, passed away on May 9, 2013. He was born February 6, 1935, to the late Joseph and Myrtle (Hermans) Vincent. Galen married Patricia Retzlaff on July 17, 1954, in Brussels, WI. From 1959 to 1962, he was an insurance agent for Hardware Mutual Insurance Company. In 1962, he started the Vincent Insurance Agency which later became the Vincent, Feldhausen and Piehl Agency. Galen was the President of Vincent, Feldhausen and Piehl Insurance and also of Hilb, Rogal and Hamilton Insurance Agency of Wisconsin and Pine Hunting Club. Galen was a very generous and loving husband, father and grandfather. He enjoyed spending time with his family and at his lake house in Michigan where he pursued his passion of hunting, fishing and the outdoors. He also enjoyed his Wednesday golf outings with his close friends.
He will be sadly missed by his wife of 58 years, Patricia; his daughter, Kathy (Mark) Adams, Bellevue, WI; five sons, Dennis (Donna) Vincent, Elm Grove, WI; Ken Vincent, Green Bay; Galen Jr. (Sue) Vincent, Lake Villa, IL; Kevin (Pamela) Vincent, Suamico; Scot (Sharon) Vincent, Green Bay; 14 grandchildren; eight great-grandchildren; one brother, Gary (Virginia) Vincent, Madison; two sisters, Carol (Norbert) Van Lieshout, Green Bay; JoAnn (Larry) Thiry, New Franken; nieces and nephews.
He was preceded in death by his brother, Lloyd Vincent and his sister-in-law, Virginia Loritz.
Friends may call Proko-Wall Funeral Home, 1630 E. Mason St. from 4 to 8 p.m. Sunday. Parish wake service 7 p.m. Sunday at the funeral home. Visitation will continue from 9:30 to 11:00 a.m. Monday at the church. Mass of Christian Burial 11:00 a.m at St. Bernard Catholic Church, 2040 Hillside Ln. with the Rev. John Gallagher officiating. In lieu of flowers a memorial fund is being established to support Cancer and Kidney research.
