Richard Delveaux Obituary

Delveaux, Richard J.

Richard J. Delveaux, 88, Lakewood resident, formerly of Green Bay, died Thursday morning, July 11, 2013. He was born on February 16, 1925 in Sugarbush to the late Joseph and Adele (Nellis) Delveaux. He served his country in the U.S. Army during World War II. On January 8, 1946 he married Lillian Massey in Sugarbush, she preceded him in death on June 9, 1989. On November 2, 1990 he married Joyce Cravillion Colle in Green Bay. Richard worked for James River (formerly American Can) for 36 years until his retirement. He enjoyed spending time with his family and visiting the cabin in Lakewood, which eventually became he and Joyce's permanent home. Richard also loved traveling, especially to Arizona, where he and Joyce spent many winters there together.

He is survived by his wife, Joyce; children, Karen Fenendael; Sharon (Randy) Zellner; Geri (special friend, Steve Piontek) Gaestel; daughter-in-law, Karen (Jack) Reince; 22 grandchildren; 25 great grandchildren; 7 great great grandchildren; sister, Madeline Chevenka; many brothers-in-law and sisters-in-law; and other nieces, nephews, relatives and friends.

In addition to his parents and first wife, he was preceded in death by his son, Terry Delveaux; step-daughter, Judy Zellner; brothers, Art, Clarence, Joe and Goldie Delveaux; sisters, Mabel Vanness, Gladis Piyonka, Ella Kust, Grace Delveaux and Hazel Krynek.

Friends may call at the Proko-Wall Funeral Home, 1630 E. Mason St., on Sunday from 4 to 7 p.m. Parish wake service 7 p.m. Visitation will continue on Monday at St. Bernard Catholic Church, 2040 Hillside Lane, from 10 to 11 a.m. Funeral Mass 11 a.m. Monday at the church with Rev. Mark Vander Steeg officiating. Entombment in the Shrine of the Good Shepherd Mausoleum. Online condolences may be expressed at www.prokowall.com.

In lieu of other expressions of sympathy, a memorial fund is being established.

The family would like to thank the staff and nurses of Carolina Manor and ThedaCare Hospice for all of their care and compassion.
