Evelyn M. Danforth, 97, Oneida, passed away Wednesday, August 14, 2013 at a local hospital. She was born in Oneida, WI on March 9, 1916, a daughter of the late Elias and Mary (Webster) Skenandore. In 1944 she married Dennison Danforth, Sr at Zion Lutheran Church, Oneida. He preceded her in death on June 14, 1976.
Evelyn was a foster grandparent to many children. She worked at the Oneida Elementary School and enjoyed going to the library to read to the children that were there. She was a member of the Oneida Ladies Auxiliary.
Evelyn is survived by her two sons: Richard (Eleanor) Danforth and Dennison Danforth, Jr; nine grandchildren: Denise (Juan) Lopez, Steven (Connie) Danforth, Angela Danforth, Shaun Danforth, Rosalyn Danforth, Danielle Danforth, Allen (Julie) Danforth, Cary Danforth, and Jason Danforth; numerous great grandchildren and great great grandchildren; and her grandpuppies Chico, Shorty, and Dusty. She was preceded in death by her parents, husband, daughter Christine Danforth, granddaughters Shelly Ann Danforth and Lauren Danforth; and her brothers and sisters.
Friends and family may visit on Friday, August 16, 2013 from 6:00 to 8:00 p.m. at RYAN FUNERAL HOME & CREMATORY, 305 N. Tenth St, De Pere.
