Juds, Shirley Ann

Shirley Ann Juds, 85, passed away on Aug. 15, 2013, at the Life Care Center of Sierra Vista.

Shirley Ann Martha Schulz was born Aug. 27, 1927, in Milwaukee, Wis., to Robert and Lillian (Tank) Schulz. She graduated from Rufus King High School on June 15, 1945. She was united in marriage to Howard Juds on June 21, 1947, at the Gospel Lutheran Church in Milwaukee.

She worked as a secretary at Spincraft and later as a cost clerk with Allis Chalmers. In 1959, Shirley and Howard moved to Cecil, Wis., where they owned and operated Juds Tavern for many years. After selling the business, the Juds' family remained in the Cecil/Bonduel area. Shirley served as the clerk-treasurer for the Village of Cecil from 1978 to 1995. After her husband's death in 1995, Shirley relocated to Onalaska, Wis., to live with her daughter, Monica. She moved with Monica's family to Arizona in 1996.

Shirley resided at the Life Care Center of Sierra Vista, following a stroke in February 2004. Her sense of humor and personality endeared her to the staff.

Shirley was preceded in death by her husband, Howard; her sisters, Ruth Roehr and Elaine Noll; and her parents.

Shirley is survived by her sister, Jeanette Noll, Milwaukee, Wis. Shirley will be missed by her four children, Monica Russell-Davis and her husband, Glenn, Sierra Vista, Ariz.; Michael Juds and his wife Janice, Little Suamico, Wis.; Melanie Thornton and her husband, James II, Green Bay, Wis.; and Marshal Juds, Little Suamico, Wis. Shirley is also survived by 13 grandchildren and six great-grandchildren, Heather Russell, Las Vegas, Nev.; Christopher Russell (Daniela) and son Christopher, Tucson, Ariz.; Jennifer Russell, Sierra Vista, Ariz.; Rachael Warren (Cody) and sons James and Brody, Vail, Ariz.; Scott Russell (Tamara), Sierra Vista, Ariz.; Daniel Russell and daughter, Maelee, Fort Gordon, Ga.; Jonathan, Brittany and Katie Juds, Sanford, S.C.; Tabetha Thornton and sons, Dustin and Jacob, Green Bay, Wis.; and James III and Rachel Thornton, Green Bay, Wis.; and Patrick Davis, Tucson, AZ.

A memorial service will be conducted at the Life Care Center of Sierra Vista at 2 p.m., August 29, with Reverend Virginia A. Studer officiating.

Hatfield Funeral Home is in charge of the cremation. A service of interment will take place at Faith Presbyterian Church's Memorial Garden at a later date.
