Lugo, Gladys A.

Gladys A. Lugo age 91, of Townsend, WI, passed away on Thursday, August 29, 2013 at Mayo Clinic Health System-Eau Claire, Wisconsin.

Gladys was born on June 28, 1922 in Wausau, WI to Wallace and Martha (Felieo) Bohn. She was raised in several areas of Wisconsin including the Gillett area and Milwaukee. In September 1941 she married Henry Ramig of Milwaukee. With the advent of World War II, Henry joined the army and while he was stationed in several areas of the country Gladys joined him eventually settling in Santa Barbara, CA. In April 1944 Henry was killed in action in Europe where he is buried. Gladys then married Albert Lugo in 1947 in Santa Barbara where they raised their two children, Gregory and Lelahvon.

In 1970, Albert retired and moved the family to Townsend, WI to the former home of Gladys' mother, Martha. From 1970 to August 22, 2013 Gladys lived in this home until lightning struck her house and she temporarily moved to stay with her daughter in Menomonie, WI. Gladys enjoyed traveling in the western United States, nature and was a voracious reader throughout her life.

She is preceded in death by her parents Wallace Charles Bohn and Martha Bohn Held, her husbands Henry Ramig and Albert Lugo, sister Joyce Danninger and brother James Bohn. Gladys is survived by her son Gregory (Mary) Lugo of Los Osos, CA and daughter Lelahvon Lugo of Menomonie, WI. She is also survived by nine nephews and four nieces as well as many friends.

A gathering of family and friends will be held on Monday, Sept. 9 from 12:00 noon from 1:00 p.m. at the Weber-Hill Funeral Home, Wabeno. A memorial service will follow at 1:00 p.m. Inurnment will be in the Lakewood Forest Cemetery. Weber-Hill Funeral Home is assisting the family. Online condolences at www.weberhillfuneralhome.com.
