Joan M. Bleser

1932 - 2013 Obituary Condolences
Joan M. Bleser Obituary
Bleser, Joan M.

Joan M. Bleser, 81, Green Bay, died peacefully with her family at her side on Monday, October 14, 2013. She was born on March 7, 1932, in De Pere to Earl and Eunice (Luisier) Turriff.

Joan was a graduate of West De Pere High School, Class of 1950. She later attended UW-Oshkosh and received a degree in education. Joan taught her entire life and touched many lives. She was an elementary school teacher, middle school teacher, and the Religious Education Coordinator at St. Agnes Parish for over 20 years. Joan especially loved working with high school students; she loved their enthusiasm, honesty and openness and believed they wanted to learn about God if you showed them the right way. She always put the needs of others before her own. She felt that God wanted her to offer the suffering she endured from the crippling effects of rheumatoid arthritis for the salvation of friends and family.

Joan's lifelong passion was bringing others to God. From her many years as a religious education instructor, to being a leader in Life in the Spirit seminars and spiritual director, Joan has been a witness to the richness of the Catholic faith and the power of the Holy Spirit.

On December 29, 1956, Joan married Al Bleser at St. Boniface Catholic Church, De Pere. Together they enjoyed their Florida vacations, spending time at the cottage with family and friends, and watching sunsets on Pine Lake. She enjoyed reading, praying, golfing and traveling with friends.

Joan is survived by her husband, Al; her children, Cathy Bleser and her husband, Dan Krunnfusz, Mt. Horeb; Jim Bleser, Appleton; Julie Bleser and her husband, Doug Clausen, Oregon, WI; and Kristin and Bryan Wright, Winneconne; her grandchildren, Connor, Kaitlin, Nathan, and Hannah; step-grandchildren, Andrea and Jason; brothers and sisters, Carol and Tom Pilgrim, Rita Aerts, and David and Cecilia Turriff, all of Green Bay; many nieces, nephews, other relatives and friends.

She was preceded in death by her parents; her sister and brother-in-law, Gail and Butch Kempen.

Friends may call at St. Agnes Catholic Church, 1484 Ninth St., from 1 to 4 p.m. Friday. The Mass of Christian Burial will be held at 4 p.m. Friday at the church with Rev. John VanDeuren officiating. Burial will be in Mount Calvary Cemetery, De Pere. Blaney Funeral Home is assisting the family. To send online condolences please go to
