Stuart "Stu" Stelow passed away on Thursday, October 17, 2013. He was 65 years old and now lived in Waupaca. He died unexpectedly while doing what he loved, duck hunting with his dear friend, Louis Hafemeister.
Stu was born on June 6, 1948 in Neenah. He grew up there and graduated from Neenah High School in 1966. He was drafted and served in the United States Army from 1968-1970. Stu worked 35 years as a millwright and supervisor at P.H. Glatfelter Corporation until his retirement in 2003.
Stu enjoyed being outside in nature, fishing, hunting and working with tools. In retirement he spent a lot of his time making old "junk" into new and useful things. Stu was smart, creative and resourceful. He had a sense of humor and could make anyone laugh. He loved his dogs and admired all animals and took time to always enjoy them.
Stu will be missed by his two children: Edward (Anna) Stelow, Charlottesville, VA; and Elizabeth (Mark) Sternig, De Pere; their mother, his ex-wife, Jennifer (Dennis) Bauer, Neenah; and his partner, Vicky Van Linn, Menasha. Stu will be remembered and missed by his grandchildren: Mary, Clara, Noah, Greta, Lucy, Rebecca, Hannah and Lawrence.
He was preceded in death by his parents Edward Stelow and Verndyne Taylor.
The funeral service for Stu will be held at 5:30 P.M., Thursday, October 24, 2013 at Neenah's Westgor Funeral Home. The family will welcome visitors at the funeral home from 3:00 P.M. until the hour of service.
