David, Ralph J.

Ralph J. David, 96, Green Bay, died Wednesday, October 23, 2013. He was born February 7, 1917, in Breed, WI to Charles and Mary Ellen (Powell) David.

During WWII, Ralph served in the U.S. Air Force in North Africa; Sicily, Italy; and in India from January, 1941 until November, 1945. On May 10, 1947, he married Esther Smith Pamperin at St. John the Baptist Catholic Church in Howard. For 37 years Ralph had been employed at Bark River Culvert and Equipment, retiring in 1987. After his retirement, Ralph worked for Avis Car Rental and as a crossing guard. He and his wife had been longtime active members of St. Agnes Parish and Ralph had served as an usher for many years.

He is survived by two children, Michael David, and Linda and her husband, Robert Rolley; three granddaughters, Sharon and Mark Begley, Cathy and Robert Salmon, Kaithlyn David; three great-grandchildren, Hunter and Keegan Salmon, and Jacob Johnston; and many nieces and nephews.

Ralph was preceded in death by his wife, Esther, in 2012; his parents; a sister, Mrs. William (Evelyn) Heise; and a brother Edward David.

Friends may call at St. Agnes Catholic Church, 1484 Ninth St., from 10 to 11 a.m. Monday. The Mass of Christian Burial will be held at 11 a.m. Monday at the church with Rev. Patrick C.
