John Enix Obituary

Enix, John

John Enix 87, Pound, WI, went to be with the Lord peacefully on Sunday March 30, 2014. He was born January 21, 1927 in Vanceburg, Kentucky to the late Isaac and Mintie (Hardiman) Enix. On September 4, 1954 John married Janette "Bonnie" Pillath at the Pound Assembly of God Church. He served as Sgt. in the 7th Infantry Division of the United States Army during the Korean War. John worked over thirty years as a dealer for the Patz Company and several other companies, as well as owning and operating a dairy farm for over thirty years. He was a member of the Coleman American Legion. John enjoyed spending time with his grandchildren and great-grandchildren tending to his trout pond, loved the Green Bay Packers, the Kentucky Wildcats or could be found in front of the T.V. watching an old Western movie. Survivors include his wife of 59 years Bonnie, three children Barbara (Joe) Sebero, Wausaukee; Darrell (Karen) Enix, Coleman; Carolyn (Steve) Podoski, Peshtigo; seven grandchildren Jennifer (Andrew) Dryja, Heather (Dustin) Koebach, John (Lisa) McMahon, Amy (Neil) Bjorkman, Ashley Enix, John Enix, Katie Podoski; 9 great-grandchildren Autumn, Morgan, Eli, Isaac, Evan, Adam, Owen, Lyric and Irie. One sister Ruth (David) Ash, Mansfield, Ohio; two sisters-in-law Verdis Enix, Vanceburg, KY; Emma Lee Enix, Walnut Grove, KY; nieces, nephews other relatives and friends. He was preceded in death by five brothers Clyde, Woodrow, Kenneth, Ivan and Cecil; two sisters Mildred Steagal and Louise Enix. Friends may call at the Hillside Assembly of God Church, Gillett from 10-12 noon Friday. Funeral Service will be held at 12 noon Friday April 4, 2014 at the Church with Pastor Paul Carlson officiating. Military Rites will be provided by the Coleman American Legion. Burial will be at First Baptist Cemetery, Pound. Rhodes-Charapata Funeral Home, Coleman is assisting the family. Please visit www.rhodescharapata.com to express online condolences.

I first visited John's trout pond with my father, Harvey Vanden Langenberg. John was generous, he allowed my grandchildren to help fish out the pond at the end of the season. Special memories given from a special man. RIP John, God bless.
