Lageman, Willem (Bill)
With great sadness, and yet with overwhelming joy of having known him as a cornerstone in our lives, we hereby announce the passing of Willem (Bill) Lageman on Aug. 1, 2014.
Born Oct. 4, 1929, Bill spent his childhood in Aerdenhout Holland; moving to the United States after World War II. After serving in the Korean War,
Bill settled in De Pere, Wis., where he graduated from St. Norbert College with a degree in Business.
He was a successful entrepreneur owning Meadowood Equestrian Center, the Arena Motel, and Lageman Tax Service.
Bill is survived and was surrounded in his final hours by his loving wife of 34 years Zsofika Lageman; his six children, Wendy Fite (Jay), Vicky Bloemer (Pete), Guy Lageman (Malia), Tye Lageman and spouse Deborah, Piroschka Thomas, Tibor Lageman; his three grandchildren, Bryan and Brigitte Thomas and Catherine Lageman; and his faithful canine companion "Jessie".
A private memorial service will be held at a later date.

I miss you Bill and Zsofi. Seems like a short time since we've seen each other. Looking forward to seeing you all again in my next life.

Bill Lageman was not only a great freind to me, but a great teacher as well. I learned a lot from him in the 30 years or so that I knew him. I wish Zsofi, family and the children I have not met yet, all the best. I am glad the family got together to help Bill through his last days. I am proud to have known him, and I know many others feel the same way. Peace Bill, I hope we meet again another day.

As a former MEC student, the influence that Bill had on my life long love affair with horses is something I hold close to my heart. He taught me not only how to ride but to be disciplined and to do it the right way.
I remember the summer riding camps at the house, the wicked (to a 10 year old) cross country course behind the house, no-stirrup lessons and the schooling shows to list a few memories.
I will always be grateful for the rock solid equine foundation he provided.
Rest in peace, Bill.

I love you Dad...almost no one reads obituaries...at least I dont...thanks to those who did, and to those who cared enough to state their affection.

I will be forever grateful that I had a Dad like you. I will miss you immensely, especially your listening ear, love for International Relations and your wicket sense of humor. Thank you for everything and most of all .. I can honestly say it was a blessing to have you as my Dad. I will miss you, but I know you are now my guardian angel and I am never alone... I love you, Pirosch
