Gary Kropp Obituary

Kropp, Gary "Big G"

Gary "Big G" Kropp, 68, of Seymour, passed away Friday, October 2, 2015. He was born August 6, 1947, son of the late Lloyd and Verona (Schmit) Kropp.

On August 6, 1966 he was united in marriage to Doris De Ruyter at St. Sebastian Catholic Church in Isaar.

Gary farmed his entire life in the Town of Seymour. He also was a seed dealer for 45 years and sold various farm products. Gary was proud that his grandchildren were joining him on the farm.

He remained a lifelong and active member of St. Sebastian Catholic Church. Gary sponsored many baseball and bowling teams through the years. He was an active member and former president of the Isaar Trail Riders snowmobile club. Gary was also an avid UWGB Lady Phoenix basketball team supporter as a season ticket holder, and of course was a Packer fan. He also enjoyed watching his grandchildren's special events.

Gary enjoyed his visits to Petticoat Junction to grab a bite and likely put together a good deal.

More than anything, Gary loved his family and was a great caretaker to them all.

He is survived by his wife Doris; daughters, Jodi (Jim) Soltvedt, Seymour; Julie (special friend Chad) Hintz, Seymour; grandchildren: Nathan Soltvedt, Zac Soltvedt, Derek Hintz and McKenzie Hintz; sister, Germaine (Richard) Hock; brother, Don (Cindy) Kropp; sisters-in-law and brothers-in-law: Bonnie Laskowski, Beverly (Milton) Krause, Richard (Sherry) De Ruyter, all of Seymour, Daniel (Shannon) and Ronald (Janelle) De Ruyter, Green Bay. Further survived by his four-legged children: Cocoa, Mollie, and Popeye. Also survived by many special Godchildren, nieces, nephews, cousins, and friends.

Gary was preceded in death by his daughter, Mary; son-in-law, Terry Hintz; mother-in-law and father-in-law, Robert and Leona De Ruyter; brothers-in-law: Kenneth (Mary) De Ruyter; Ron Laskowski; sister-in-law, Joy Danforth; nephew, John Krause.

Friends may call at Muehl-Boettcher Funeral Home, Seymour, on Tuesday, October 6, 2015 from 4-8 p.m. Visitation will continue on Wednesday, October 7, 2015 at St. Sebastian Catholic Church, Isaar from 9:00 a.m. until the Mass of Christian burial at 11:00 a.m. with Fr. Brian Belongia officiating. Burial will take place in the parish cemetery. Online condolences may be expressed at www.muehlboettcher.com.

In lieu of flowers, a memorial fund will be established in Gary's memory.

Gary was my second cousin. Every year, we would go to Green Bay and Gary would drop everything to meet us. He was the kindest, happiest man. My heart goes out to Doris and the family. XOXO

Knew Gary from our younger years and now as we grew older. He was always smiling. Heaven is lucky to have him. I know his family will really miss him but it will get better in time. Prayers to his family. Never to be forgotten.

Gary was the most fantastic friend anyone could ask for. Heaven is blessed to have him, but those of us who knew and loved him will be lonesome for a long, long time. ...from one of his many many friends
