Anthony Chambers Obituary

Chambers, Anthony "Tony" B.

Anthony "Tony" B. Chambers, 85, lifelong resident of Hobart, died Sunday, April 2, 2017 at his home. He was born June 10, 1931, in Hobart to Thomas and Anna (Rausch) Chambers. When he returned from the service, Tony came back to run the family farm with his dad and brother. He loved working on his farm and would have loved one more ride on a tractor. A quiet man with a great sense of humor, Tony loved animals and always had a yard full of birds and deer that he enjoyed feeding. He also enjoyed collecting trains.

Tony is survived by his two sisters, Liz Van Straten, Barbara (Robert) Holschuh; five nephews, Mike Van Straten, Robert Holschuh, Jr., Thomas Holschuh, John Holschuh, Thomas Usiak; four nieces, Kathy Kenner, Debbie Holschuh-Houden, Connie Usiak-McConohy, Laura Usiak-DeWitt and their families.

He was preceded in death by his parents; a brother, Thomas Chambers, Jr.; three sisters, Margaret Chambers, Agnes (Roger) Travenski, Dorothy (Leonard) Usiak; brother-in-law, Donald Van Straten and nephew, Donn Van Straten.

Friends may call at Blaney Funeral Home, 1521 Shawano Ave., from 3 p.m. to 6 p.m. Thursday, April 6. Tony will be missed by many people he may be gone but he will never be forgotten.
If only the world had more people like Tony in it honest ,kind, hard worker, quiet to himself type of guy with a good sense of humor and one who fought for our country.
I am honored that I had the time with Tony to care for him in his home and hear all of the stories and allow him to reminisce about his life of childhood, Army and travels, farming, people he had known through the years.
Now he is home with his family may he now rest in piece .
