John Gordon

Robert Lee "John Henry" Gordon, 70, passed away on Friday, January 18, 2013 at Greenville Memorial Hospital. Born in Brevard, NC, he was a son of the late Eddie Lee and Helen Lindsey Gordon. Mr. Gordon was retired from Wilkins Carpet, was an avid outdoorsman, and attended Hilltop Freewill Baptist Church. He is survived by his wife of 50 years, Wanda Brown Gordon; daughters: Tammy Bryant, Lisa Lindsey, Angela Bruce(Richard), Maria Gordon; son: Jason Gordon(Vanessa); sisters: Ruby Owens, Betty Camp, Jane Waters; brother: Joe "Duck" Gordon; 10 grandchildren and 1 great-grandchild. Along with his parents, he was predeceased by a sister: Tempie Travers; and son-in-law: John Bryant. The family will receive friends Monday evening from 6 until 8 p.m. at The Howze Mortuary. Funeral services will be Tuesday afternoon at 2 p.m. at Hilltop Freewill Baptist Church with entombment to follow in Mountain View Memorial Park. Memorials may be made to Hilltop Freewill Baptist Church, 1401 Geer Hwy., Travelers Rest, SC 29690 or Gap Creek Baptist Church, 381 Gap Creek Rd., Marietta, SC 29661. The family will be at the home. John its been a little less then a year since ive seen you, i remember your hug and smile like it was yesterday. You always accepted me and treated me the same after the split. God took a wonderful angel home. Ill see you again in a better place. I love you.
