James Roy Wilhite

Greenville

James Roy Wilhite, 71, of Greenville, died on Sunday, June 29, 2014.

Born in Greenville County, he was a son of the late James Ralph and Virginia Vickery Wilhite.

James was in the first graduating class at Greenville Technical College, and was of the Baptist faith. He retired from Collins Electrical after 47 years.

He is survived by a sister, Patricia Crane; two nieces, Susan Benai Parker (Roger) and Jami Bonner (Dustin); and great nieces and nephews, Timothy and Jennifer Parker, and Landin and Olivya Bonner.

The visitation will be held Wednesday, July 2, 2014 from 12:00 p.m. until 1:15 p.m. at Thomas McAfee Funeral Home, Northwest, with the funeral service following at 1:30 p.m. in the Northwest chapel. Burial will be at Woodlawn Memorial Park.

The family will be at the sister's residence.

I haven't seen Roy for several years. Roy and I were in the Band at Greenville High School. We both played trombone and marched beside each other at football games. He was a good friend. Sorry for yor loss.

Patricia, I'm very sorry for your loss. I remember Roy at Eastlan though it's been a long time since I'd seen him. Brothers are special and I know he will be missed. Hugs!!
