I trained at JPMorgan with Dann, his great modesty meant that he worked extremely hard yet never celebrated his achievements. He always had time for everybody else and was immensely popular. I last spoke to him as he was about to get married and he was thrilled with where his life was going, he has packed a lot into a short life but had the potential to achieve so much.

The Final Salute

“Brothers in Arms”, Military men and women down through the centuries, have traditionally exchanged “Hand Salutes” as a sign of recognition and as a way to render courtesy and respect one to another.

This “Hand Salute” is the last that we shall render to Dann V. Angeloff, Jr. Short our “Brother-in-Arms”. To his family it symbolizes the love and respect that we have for Dann. And to Dann it is rendered as a symbol of honor and gratitude to thank him for the devoted and selfless service he rendered to his country while supporting combat operations in Iraq while serving in the U.S. Marine Corps. Dann, you are a true American patriot, who served with honor and distinction. We bid you a sad farewell. You will be dearly missed from among our ranks. Be at Ease. Rest in Peace.

On behalf of the 1,261 military veteran Legionnaires of Lowe-McFarlane Post 14 of the American Legion, I extend our sympathies and our condolences to Dann's family and loved ones.

Dann was a sincerely kind person from the moment we met in Kindergarten through our graduation from High School. What a delight it was to see him at our 20 year HS reunion and find him to be the sweet, friendly person I had remembered. My prayers are with his family.

My condolences to the Angeloff family. I was saddened to hear the news of Dann's passing. I still remember, like it was yesterday, him showing up on Dartmouth's campus our freshmen year with his visor turned backwards. He was so Cali. I never would have guessed then that he had such love of country that he'd later join the Marines. When we happened to cross paths in San Francisco several years after graduation, I thought joining the Marines was the coolest, most humble and selfless act given his background. I was truly impressed and envious. While we weren't all that close, I'm glad I got to see him one brief last time this past summer at our 20th reunion. I didn't know he was sick and he never even mentioned it. I am confident that knowing his love of family and country, courage, and fighting spirit will bring great memories and be a tremendous help in your grieving process. May God bless your family.

Sir you will be missed from all your Marines at Golf Co. You came to us with a high level of motivation and expected nothing but the best from us. I still remember how proud you were of all of us. Your signature is hanged on my wall, entrusting me to lead Marines as a Corporal. I will continue to lead today adopting the leadership traits you taught us. Thank you sir.
