J.T. Hellams Conestee J.T. Hellams, 85, husband of Kathleen Wardlaw Hellams, of Conestee, died Saturday, August 1, 2015. Born in Georgia, he was a son of the late Roy and Ruth Davenport Hellams. J.T. served in the United States Army. He retired from Kemet Corporation as an electronics technician. Surviving, in addition to his wife of 62 years, are a daughter, Sandra Udry and husband Michael, of Simpsonville; two grandchildren, Jessica Udry and Jason Udry, both of Simpsonville; a sister and three brothers. Visitation will be held from 2:00 to 2:45 p.m. Tuesday, August 4, 2015 at Thomas McAfee Funeral Home, Southeast, with the Funeral Service to follow at 3:00 p.m. Burial will be in Greenville Memorial Gardens. Ann Leonard Hitt Charleston Ann Leonard Hitt, 97, of Charleston, South Carolina, widow of Robert M. "Red" Hitt, Jr., entered into eternal rest Friday, July 31, 2015. Her funeral service will be held Monday, August 3, 2015, in St. Philip's Church, 142 Church Street, Charleston, at 11:00 a.m. Interment, St. Philip's Churchyard, Charleston, SC. Arrangements by J. HENRY STUHR, INC., DOWNTOWN CHAPEL, Charleston, SC. Ann was born September 7, 1917 in Charleston, South Carolina, daughter of the late John Thomas Leonard, Jr. and the late Clara Pringle Leonard. She was a member of St. Philip's Church and attended Brenau University. She is survived by three daughters: Joan H. Algar (John) of Mount Pleasant, SC, Dianne H. Moore of Chester, SC and Nancy H. Miller of Mt. Pleasant, SC; two sons, Robert M. "Bobby" Hitt, III (Gwen) of Columbia, SC and John T. L. "Jack" Hitt (Lisa) of New Haven, CT; twelve grandchildren; and eight great-grandchildren. Hough, Theressa - Easley  
Theressa Alice Senkbeil Hough Easley Theressa Alice Senkbeil Hough, 80, of Easley, passed away on Friday, July 31, 2015. Born April 5, 1935, in Atlanta, Georgia, she attended Ed S. Cook and Garden Hills Elementary Schools, and was a 1953 graduate of North Fulton High School, where she was a National Honor Society Merit Scholar, a member of the girl's Varsity Basketball team, the swim team, the bowling team, Drama club, Monitor's Club, GAA, Special Chorus, and Orchestra. She was also an avid hiker and spelunker. She was the 1954 Georgia State Women's Double's Bowling Champion, and attended Oglethorpe University and Southern Technical Institute from 1953-1954. She served in the US Navy from 1955 to 1958 as an Air Traffic Controller. She was a Brownie troop leader, a church organist/choir director for various churches from 1960 to 1980, and a dispatcher for Moriah Ambulance. From 1976 to 2001, she was the Manager of Cash Processing for American Management Association. She also served as a local pastor for Keene-Upper Jay United Methodist from 1982 to 2001, was an AEMT for Critical Care Tech, and was President of the Lake Placid Volunteer Ambulance Service. She loved Bible study, knitting, crocheting, double deck pinochle, and teaching piano. She is survived by her children, Kimberley Decker, Darrell Hough, Lisa Yakalis, Victoria Hough, Glenna Whittemore, Thomas Hough, and Richard Hough III; her siblings, Barbara Heisley, Rita Burch, Penny Thompson, David Petrie, and Sylvia Nye; 16 grandchildren; 22 great-grandchildren, and several step-grandchildren and step-great-grandchildren. She was preceded in death by her husband, Richard A. Hough; her siblings, Mabel Wolfson and Richard Senkbeil; her parents, Albert Julius Senkbeil and Phyllis Thomas Senkbeil Petrie; and her great-grandson, Torin Robert Colby. The memorial service will be held on Monday, August 3, 2015, at Palmetto Mortuary in Greenville from 11:00 am to 1:00 pm. In lieu of flowers, donations can be made to Lake Placid Volunteer Ambulance Service, 388 Mill Pond Drive, Lake Placid, NY 12946.

Norma Jean Turner Hall Easley Norma Jean Turner Hall, 81, of Easley, wife of Furman Hall, died Thursday, July 30, 2015. Born in Greenville, she was a daughter of the late Marvin and Bertha Smith Turner. Norma Jean was a member of Mt. Carmel Baptist Church. Surviving, in addition to her loving husband of over 64 years, is a daughter, Deborah Hall Grant and Husband Mike of Easley; a sister, Deanne Skelton of Greenville; a brother, Joel Turner of Simpsonville; a granddaughter, Amy Johnson and Fiancé Donald Painter of Easley; a grandson, Sean Hyder and wife Jada; two great granddaughters, Carlee Johnson, and Kayla Johnson and Fiancé Cedrick Wideman; and a great great-granddaughter, Harmony Wideman. The visitation will be held Sunday, August 2, 2015 from 1:30 p.m. until 2:45 p.m. at Thomas McAfee Funeral Home, Northwest, with the funeral service following at 3:00 p.m. in the Northwest chapel. Doris Cook Harvey Greenville Doris Cook Harvey, 85, widow of John G. Harvey went on to be with the Lord July 30, 2015. Born in Greenville, she was the daughter of the late Lewis E. & Georgia B. Cook, Sr. She was preceded by her son, Louie Harvey and is survived by her daughter, Georgia Dianne Vinson and son-in-law Kent Vinson of Greenville, SC; two brothers: Lewis Cook, Jr. & wife Gay of Dacusville, SC, and Bob Cook & wife Fay of Mauldin, SC; six grandchildren: David Parker & wife Jorgia, Nicole Vinson, Kayla Vinson, Dexter Vinson, Stephanie Hunter & husband Chad, and Louie Harvey & wife Rhonda, along with seven great-grandchildren. A memorial service will be held at Berea First Baptist Church on Sunday, August 2, at 2:00 p.m. In lieu of flowers, memorials may be made to Pruitt Health Hospice (102 E. Hedgepath, Jack Leon "Pete" - Laurens  
Jack Leon "Pete" Hedgepath Laurens Jack Leon "Pete" Hedgepath, age 86, of 523 Fairview Road, and husband of the late Frances McGaha Hedgepath, passed away on Friday, July 31, 2015, at the home of his granddaughter in Greenville. Born in Ware Shoals, Pete was a US Army Veteran of the Korean Conflict and retired from Laurens Commission of Public Works. He was a member of First United Methodist Church of Laurens and was a Mason. Surviving are his daughter, Linda Brown and husband Tom; his granddaughter, April Nicole Brown and fiancé Mical Smith; and his great-granddaughter, Addison Camille Smith. In addition to his parents and wife, Mr. Hedgepath was predeceased by a granddaughter, Jacqueline Camille Brown and all seven of his siblings. Funeral services will be held at 1:00pm on Monday, August 3, 2015, at First United Methodist Church conducted by Rev. Alice MacKeil with entombment following in Forest Lawn Cemetery with Military Honors. The family will be at the residence. Visitation will be held at First United Methodist Church from 12:00-12:45pm on Monday. Memorials may be made to American Cancer Society, 154 Milestone Way, Greenville, SC 29615. Wanda Orr Hamlin Fountain Inn Wanda Orr Hamlin 69, of Fnt. Inn passed away Tuesday July 28, 2015. She is the beloved wife of Johnny R. Hamlin. She was a daughter of the late Lloyd D. and Aileen (Frizzel) Orr, In addition to her husband she is survived by one son; Richard Hamlin, two daughters; Leisa Collins and Shirley Watson, nine grandchildren and eight great-grandchildren, two brothers; Terrel and Duane Orr. The family will receive friends Friday July 31, 2015 beginning at 12:00pm at the Graceland East Memorial Park Mausoleum Chapel, funeral services will follow at 2:00pm.

Harden, Joe H. - Sunset  
Joe H. Harden Sunset Joe Henry Harden, beloved husband of Mary Hinkle Harden, passed away on Wednesday, July 29, 2015, after a courageous battle with cancer. Joe was born on September 10, 1944 to the late Ruby Adams Webb. He was a member of Grace United Methodist Church in Pickens. He lived a lifetime of assisting others, beginning with his service in the U. S. Army Military Police and graduation from West Point. He was employed by Easley City Police Department as a uniform patrol officer and detective and with Greenville City Police Department, where he served as a uniform patrol officer and detective in whilt collar crime specialist. He was recognized as Police Officer of the year for Greenville Police Department in 1981, 1983, and 1984. He received a special recognition award in 1988 by the agent in charge of the SC Office of the FBI. The next twenty years, 1987 to 2007, were spent with Canal Insurance Company as a special investigations unit manager. From 2007 to 2010, he was employed with Carolina Causality Insurance Company as fire and theft claims supervisor. Joe was currently employed with Heavy Salvage and also served as associate municipal judge for the City of Easley, SC, Director of Pickens County Youth Court and as Pickens County School System hearing officer. He was also a Pickens County Reserve Deputy. Joe was the first male member of the Insurance Women of the Piedmont, who presented him with the 2013 Distinguished Service Award of Excellence. Joe enjoyed spending time with his family, friends, and pets. His hobbies included golf, and restoring classic cars. Survivors include his wife, Mary Hinkle Harden, daughter, Michelle Garrett and husband Scott, nephews reared in the home, Jon and Justin Hinkle, granddaughters, Abby and Hannah Garrett, sisters, Bessie Webb, Ruth Webb and Sylvia Owen, brothers, Teddy and J. L. Webb. In addition, Joe is survived by a loving and caring brother-in-law and wife, David and Cindy Hinkle and friends, Phyllis Harden, Gail Strickland, and Wendell Hunter who considered Joe a mentor. The family wishes to thank the staff of Bon Secours St. Frances Cancer Center, St. Frances Batson Cancer Center, Gibbs Cancer Center and Pruitt Hospice for their dedicated care. Visitation will be held at Dillard Funeral Home on Saturday, August 1, 2015 from 12 to 1:45 PM with a graveside service following at Hillcrest Memorial Park and Gardens at 2 PM.
