Rishel III, Eugene - Greenville  
Eugene B. "Gene" Rishel, III Greenville Eugene B "Gene" Rishel, III was born in Lancaster, PA, on February 14, 1933 to the late Mary B. Rishel and Eugene B. Rishel ,Jr. After graduation from high school, he attended Perkiomen Preparatory School. While there he excelled in both wrestling and baseball. In lieu of signing a professional baseball contract he elected to serve his country by enlisting in the United States Army. He completed Officer Candidate School. He graduated from Clemson University in 1962. Mr. Rishel was a paratrooper with the 82nd Airborne Division and served two tours of duty in Foreign Wars: Korea and Vietnam. During the Vietnam War he worked with the Army Concept Team in Vietnam. He tested and evaluated new weapons systems. He was awarded with the Bronze Star, The Meritorious Service Medal, and the RVN Armed Forces Honor Medal. The conclusion of his military service was spent working in designing Air Defense missile systems for ground and air support. His post military years were spent in various entrepreneurial capacities until his eventual retirement. He enjoyed spending time at his beach home and later at Lake Hartwell. His greatest delight was being with his grandchildren on the water. He was a member of First Presbyterian Church where he was involved in many ministries. His passion was working with the Pastoral Visitation Ministry, visiting the elderly and shut ins. He had a compassionate and giving spirit, never encountering an individual he did not consider a friend. He is survived by his wife, Mae Robinson "Robbie" Rishel, son Stephen Rishel (Shelia), grandsons - Todd Rishel, Trent Rishel (Teia), Zachary Rishel (Olivia) great grandson Wren Rishel, daughter Claire Hill (Robert) and granddaughters Alexandra Hill and Caroline Hill. The family would like to thank the Greenville VA Primary Care Team and Angela and Maria for their loving care. Memorials may be made to Thornwell Children's Home, 302 South Broad St., Clinton, SC 39325, or Miracle Hill Children's Home, P.O. Box 2546, Greenville, SC 29602. Visitation will be held at First Presbyterian Church Parlor on Tuesday February 3, 2015 from 10:30 a.m. to 11:45 a.m. with a memorial service to follow at 12:00 p.m. in Harper Chapel. Weisner, Margaret Ann Hood - Pelzer  
Margaret Ann Hood Weisner Pelzer Margaret Ann Hood Weisner, age 77, passed away Thursday, January 29 at home in Pelzer, beating incurable Multiple Myeloma for over 20 years. Her husband, James Donald Weisner, and her son, William Jeffrey Weisner, were at her side. Surviving are granddaughters, Danielle Nicole Weisner and Summer Ann Weisner. Margaret is predeceased by her son, Douglas Brian Weisner. Services are 3 PM Saturday, February 7 at West Pelzer Baptist Church. Linda S. Alexander Greer Linda Smith Alexander, 71, widow of Ronnie M. Alexander, died January 27, 2015 at St. Francis Hospital. A native of Greenville County, daughter of the late J.B. and Margaret Ruth Brock Smith, she was a former employee of Olan Mills Photography and a member of Faith Temple. Surviving are her son, John J. Alexander (Jessica) of Taylors; one daughter, Ruth Ann Lindsey (Tony) and five grandchildren, Allison and Kara Lindsey and Aubrey, Erin and Autumn Alexander. Mrs. Alexander was predeceased by one daughter, Cher-rie Alexander, one brother, James Smith and one sister, Annette Smith Vaughn. Funeral services will be held 2:00 p.m. Sunday at Faith Temple conducted by Rev. Raymond Burrows. Burial will follow in the church cemetery. Pallbearers will be Roger Tate, Eric Odom, Alan Tucker, Ron McCuteheon, Bryant Pate and Michel Juarez. Visitation will be held 6:00-8:00 p.m. Saturday at Wood Mortuary. The family is at the home. Berkley, Carol - Taylors  
Carol LaChance Berkley Taylors Carol L Berkley, 72, beloved wife of Vince Berkley for 52 years, passed away January 23, 2015 at McCall Hospice House, Simpsonville, SC. Carol was raised in Gonic, NH, by her late parents, Lorraine and Bernard LaChance. She graduated from Spaulding H.S. in Rochester, NH in 1960; graduated from Mackintosh Business College in Dover, NH in 1962. Carol was a secretary in the Chicago Loop, in junior's retail at J.B. Whites, Claims at Allstate Insurance and an Avon Lady. She was a loving, giving person. She loved her family and home, our orange tabby cats, belly dancing class for 14 years, the beach and playing games on the internet. Carol attended Prince of Peace Church when she was well. She leaves behind to Cherish their memories, Vince; our sons, Jimmy Berkley and wife Nina of Melbourne Beach, FL, Shane Berkley and Fiancee Carrie Gazaway of Taylors, SC, daughter, Michelle Lynch and husband Dean of Greer, SC; her brothers, Paul LaChance and wife Margie of Colorado Springs, CO, Neil LaChance and wife Debbie of Rochester, NH, Marc LaChance of Columbia, TN, and B.J. LaChance; sisters, Nancy Carlson of Mundelein, IL, and Rosean LaChance of Burbank, CA; our grandchildren, Justin Berkley and wife Chelsea of Orlando, FL, Chance Pickelsimer (mother Michelle) of Greer, SC, Max and Nicole Berkley (mother Ingrid) of Orlando, FL, and Joelle Lynch of Greer, SC; our great grandchildren, Jade and Carter Berkley of Orlando, FL; and many nieces and nephews. She was predeceased by Richey LaChance and Barbara LaChance Ferris. There will be a celebration of life drop-in, Saturday, February 14, from 2:00 - 4:30 PM (light snacks and casual dress) at Praise Cathedral Church, 3381 Brushy Creek Road, Greer, SC. The family wants to thank the nurses and CNA's at McCall Hospice House that gave such wonderful care during Carol's ordeal. Cremation Society of South Carolina is serving the Berkley family.

Ellenburg, Rachel - Easley  
Rachel H. Ellenburg Easley Rachel Henderson Ellenburg, 97, formerly of Store Road, wife of the late Rev. Carl Ellenburg, passed away Thursday, January 29, 2015 at Capstone Health and Rehab. Born June 20, 1917 in Pickens County, to the late Fred and Maude Watson Henderson, Mrs. Ellenburg retired from Sangamo Electric and was a member of Amazing Grace Fellowship. Surviving are three brothers, Curtis Henderson, Bruce Henderson and Fred Henderson; grandchildren, Layne Lemons (Trish), Dana Clay (James), Kendall Lemons (Lesli), Tani Clark (Rick), Clancy Cole (Randy) and Andi Cahaly (Craig); a daughter-in-law, Harriett Ellenburg Gibson; a son-in-law, Dewey Lemons; and twelve great-grandchildren. In addition to her husband and parents, Mrs. Ellenburg was predeceased by a daughter, Betty E. Lemons, a son, Larry A. Ellenburg, one brother and three sisters. Graveside services will be at 1:00 PM Monday at Greenlawn Memorial Park. The family will receive friends at the graveside immediately following the service. Etheredge, Doris - Inman  
Doris Garrett Etheredge Inman Doris Garrett Etheredge, age 94, formerly of Taylors, SC, died on January 26, 2015, at Lake Emory Post-Acute Care, Inman, SC. She was born June 20, 1920, in Fountain Inn, the daughter of the late Nannie Faye Garrett and Roy Tollie Garrett. Doris was a charter member of Piedmont Park Methodist Church and a member of Lee Road United Methodist Church for over 50 years. Doris was dietician at Paris School for over 30 years where she made many friends. She was married to the late Douglas Etheredge and is survived by her daughter, Linda Leake, Atlanta, GA, son and daughter-in-law, Bruce and JoAnne Etheredge, Inman, SC, six grandchildren: Allison Leake Langwell, Lawrence, KS, Susan Leake Harris, Atlanta, GA, Jay Etheredge, Huntington Beach, CA, Michael Etheredge, Atlanta, GA, Julie Etheredge Powell, Cowpens, SC, Drew Etheredge, Suffolk,VA, and 10 great grandchildren. Special thanks to her thoughtful friends and neighbors who helped take care of Doris for so many years. A Celebration of Life will be held on February 10, 2015 at 4:00 p.m. at Lee Road United Methodist Church, Taylors, SC. Hettie Christine "Chris" Flint Greenville Hettie Christine "Chris" Flint, 93, of Greenville, SC died Monday January 26, 2015 at St. Francis Hospital. Chris was born on November 9, 1921 in Covington, VA. She was the daughter of the late Ocie Ola and Thomas Wayne Flint. She was a graduate of Baylor University, Southern Baptist Theological Seminary, and the George Peabody College for Teachers. Chris was a legal assistant with the Social Security Administration in Baltimore, MD for over 25 years. Chris is survived by nieces Betty Scott Elliott of Greenville, SC; Phyllis Ann Flint Beverage of Ft. Pierce, FL; Jenny Lynn Flint McAllister of Chester, VA; and, nephews Gilbert Wayne Flint of Front Royal, VA; and, Alan Jeffrey Flint of Tampa, FL. A private memorial will be held in Greenville, SC. Memorial donations may be made to Pelham Road Baptist Church sanctuary fund.
