Larry Adcock Seneca James Larry Adcock, 80, husband of Robbie Ferree Adcock, of Seneca, passed away Sunday, August 30, 2015 at his residence. Born in Wadesboro, NC, he was the son of the late James Caughn and Lily Grace Kelly Adcock. Mr. Adcock retired from Fluor Daniel where he was an engineer, was a veteran of the United States Army and a member of St. Mark Methodist Church. He was widely known as an avid traveling fisherman. Survivors in addition to his wife of 57 years, include a son, David P. Adcock; daughter, Melissa A. and husband Jaime Benton; grandson, Trevor J. Benton; and numerous relatives and friends. A memorial service will be held at a later date. In lieu of flowers, memorials may be made to a charity of one's choice. Bowick, Bernice - Grer  
Bernice June Bowick Greer Bernice June Bowick loved to travel and one of her favorite songs was "Far Away Places". She traveled the world and on Sunday, August 30, 2015, she earned her wings and took her final trip home. She was married to J. C. Bowick for over 65 years. Born in Yancy County, NC, she was the daughter of the late Jesse James and Kate Hughes Deyton. She was a homemaker and member of Praise Cathedral. Surviving, in addition to her husband, are daughters Trena Draughn (John), of Surfside Beach and Myrna Smith and (Rod), of Murrells Inlet; son, Brad Bowick (Cyndi), of North Myrtle Beach; a grandchild, Blake Sloan (Katherine); and sisters, Faye, Wanda, Barbara, and Joyce; and brother, Larry. She was predeceased by sisters, Eunice and Evelyn. Visitation will be held Wednesday, September 2, 2015 from 12:00 to 1:15 p.m. at Thomas McAfee Funeral Home, Downtown. The funeral service will follow at 1:30 p.m. in the Downtown Chapel. Burial will be in Woodlawn Memorial Park.

Carver, Daniel  
Daniel M Carver Greenville Daniel graduated from Boise High School in Idaho in 1971. He attended Boise Junior College, the University of Utah, and Columbia University in the City of New York. He worked for AT&T there and for BB&T in Greenville before retiring due to ill health. He is survived by his mother Harriet W. Carver of Greenville SC, and his brother Terrell F. Carver of Bristol, England. There will be no service.

Copeland, Barbara - Clemson  
Barbara Copeland Clemson Barbara Copeland, 88, passed away on Thursday, August 27, 2015 at The Woodlands at Furman, Greenville, SC. She was married to Jim Copeland for 57 years until his death in December 2005. Having grown up in Burke County, GA, she was the daughter of the late Jones and Lucile Bargeron. Her family is thankful for the enormous blessing of having known, loved and been loved by such a beautiful, selfless, godly, Southern lady. She attended Shorter College and graduated from the University of Georgia in 1947 with a degree in Music Education. Her lifelong love of piano playing became her ministry. Having lived in Clemson, SC since 1953 she was a faithful member of the First Baptist Church, having served as Sunday School teacher in the 5 year old department for over 49 years and in leadership in the Baptist Women's organization. She was a former kindergarten teacher and piano teacher. Barbara was active at the Clemson Downs Retirement Community as a volunteer/piano player and resident until her last years when she moved to The Woodlands at Furman. She is survived by daughters, Carol Copeland of Asheville, NC and Cile (Bob) Vickery of Easley, SC; grandchildren, William Russell of Asheville, NC, Ann Russell Burgess of Sylva, NC, Carrie Vickery Meisenheimer (Mike) of Greenville, SC and Beth Ann Vickery of Greenville, SC; great grandchildren, Graham Burgess and Copeland, Anna Cile, and Riggs Meisenheimer. Memorial services will be held at First Baptist Church, Clemson, SC at 11:00 on Thursday, September 10 with visitation following the service. The Vickery family will also receive friends at the home of Cile Vickery, Easley, SC on Wednesday, September 9 from 6:00 to 8:00. Memorials may be made to First Baptist Church, Clemson, SC or Campus Outreach Greenville, Greenville, SC. The family would like to thank the many friends that cared for and loved her at The Woodlands at Furman and at RoseCrest. James Aaron (Jim) Farmer Fairforest James Aaron (Jim) Farmer, 74, went home to be with his Savior on Monday, August 31, 2015. Mr. Farmer was married to his loving wife Joyce Simmons Farmer for fifty-four years and was the son of the late Cecil and Jeanette (Gaskin) Farmer. He was a member of the Arcadia United Methodist Church where he served as Church Treasurer for many years. An avid golfer, he was proud of the accomplishment of 8 holes-in-one across the years. Mr. Farmer was employed in textiles, where he served in management and sales for many years. In addition to his wife, Mr. Farmer is survived by three children: Terrie West, Todd Farmer and Julie Farmer and her husband, Chris Jones; four grandchildren, and 3 great-grandchildren; a sister, Rebecca Farmer Edington and a brother, John Farmer. A Celebration of Life will be held at the Arcadia United Methodist Church, 391 Arcadia St., Arcadia, SC on Wednesday, September 2nd at 11:00am with receiving of friends and lunch following the service. "Tony" Guthrie Pelzer Wilton Anthony "Tony" Guthrie, 59, joined Jesus on Sunday, August 30, 2015 after battling cancer. Born in Williamston, he was the son of Betty Jane Chapman Guthrie Kellett and the late Wilson Harvey Guthrie. He was formerly employed with L'oreal and a member of New Spring Church. He was president of Tiger Paws Express. Survivors include his mother and step-father, James Kellett of Williamston; fiancée, Cyndi Jones of the home; daughter, Kara Roberts and her fiancé, Andres Acevedo of Piedmont; sister, Wanda Sutherland (Steve) of West Pelzer; step-brother, Butch Kellett of Fork Shoals; step-sister, Patsy Pitts of Greenwood; special nieces, Stephanie S. Owens (Allen) and Lauren S. Brown (Roy); four great nieces and nephews, Cameren, Brylee, Hollyn, Hagan. Visitation will be held from 6:30 - 9:00 p.m. Tuesday, September 1, at Gray Mortuary, Pelzer. James Alfred Herman Greenville James Alfred Herman, 90, of Taylors, husband of Susan Blume Herman, died Sunday, August 30, 2015. Born in Greenville, he was the son of the late Clyde and Lula Herman. James was a member of Berea First Baptist Church where he was a member of the Friendship Group and a member of the Bykota Sunday School class. He was also was a member of the Joy Group at Brandon Baptist Church. In addition to his loving wife he is survived by one daughter, Kathy Kepler (Bob); step daughter, Rebecca Brager (David), step son Tommy Tate (Sandy); two grandsons, Ryan Lesley (Leah) and Corey Lesley (Jan); step granddaughter, Margaret Tate McIntyre (Adam); step grandson, Harrison Tate; and two great grandchildren, Taylor Lesley and Hamish McIntyre. He is preceded in death by one brother, Lee Earl Herman; and first wife Ruth Brown Herman.
