Glover, Henry "Burt" - Greenville  
Henry "Burt" Glover Greenville Henry Burton "Burt" Glover, 96, died June 23, 2016 at McCall Hospice House of Greenville. A native of Worcester, Massachusetts, he was a son of the late Lloyd Henry and Lucy Melinda Dow Glover, a retired division manager of Steel Heddle Manufacturing, a member of White Oak Baptist Church, and a US Army Air Corps WWII veteran. Surviving are his wife, Sophie Magdeline Lubas Glover; three sons, Robert Henry Glover of Griffin, Georgia, Ronald Burton Glover of Seneca and Richard Walter Glover of Gatlinburg, Tennessee; one brother, Everett Glover of Madison, Wisconsin; nine grandchildren and nine great-grandchildren. A private memorial service will be held at a later date. Memorials may be made to McCall Hospice House, 1836 W. Georgia Road, Simpsonville, SC 29680. Hammett, Betty Jean "Beck" - Fountain Inn  
Betty Jean "Beck" Hammett Fountain Inn Betty Jean "Beck" Hammett, 84, of Fountain Inn, wife of Edwin "Buddy" Hammett, passed away peacefully on Thursday, June 23, 2016 at Greenville Memorial Hospital after an illness while battling Alzheimer's. Beck and Buddy attended First Baptist Church in Fountain Inn, and she was a member of the Ester Sunday School Class. Beck was born in Owings, SC to the late Butler and Tweetie Satterfield, and was predeceased by her son, Edwin Keith Hammett and sister, Nita Satterfield. Beck is survived by her husband, Buddy of the home, brothers; Ridgeway Satterfield of Laurens, and Wofford Satterfield of Fountain Inn, sisters; Bobbie Burns of Wilmington, NC. and Dorothy "Dot" McKittrick of Laurens, as well as numerous nieces and nephews who will miss her very much. Visitation will be Monday, June 27 at 10AM in the mausoleum chapel at Cannon Memorial Park with funeral services at 11AM. Entombment will follow in the cemetery beside her beloved son, Keith. Daniel Alexander Hardy Greenville Daniel Alexander Hardy, 69, of Greenville, husband of Brenda Lollis Hardy, died Friday, June 24, 2016. Born in Crescent City, FL, he was the son of the late John C. and Sarah Jane Robinson Hardy. Daniel was a born again Christian and Eagle Scout. He loved camping, fishing, and was a hard-working man who loved his family. He was employed by IMS of Belton and served in the United States Navy during the Vietnam War. In addition to his loving wife, he is survived by a son, Chad Hardy; two daughters, Septima and Dara Hardy; and a granddaughter, Chamberlin Hardy. The visitation will be held Sunday, June 26, 2016 from 3:00 p.m. until 5:00 p.m. at Thomas McAfee Funeral Home, Northwest. The funeral service will be held Tuesday, June 28, 2016 at 3:00 p.m. at MJ Dolly Cooper Veterans Cemetery. Memorials may be made to McCall Hospice, 1836 W. Harrison, Barbara - Greenville  
Barbara Farr Harrison Greenville Barbara Farr Harrison, 80, died peacefully on June 21, 2016. She is survived by her husband, Donald Lee Harrison; her daughter, Lynda Harrison Hatcher and husband, Robert Vance Hatcher, III of Richmond, VA, and her son, Donald Lee Harrison, Jr. and wife, Patricia Buddendorf Harrison of Charlotte, NC. She is also survived by four grandchildren; William Massie Meredith, III, Margaret Harrison Meredith, Avery Farr Harrison and Donald Lee Harrison, III. She was pre-deceased by one brother, Edwin Francis Farr, Jr. and is survived by her sister-in-law, Patsy Powell Farr, her niece, Caroline Farr Price, both of Columbia, SC; her uncle and aunt, Charles Randolph and Margaret Short McCreight, of Sumter, SC and many cousins. Born November 22, 1935, Barbara was the daughter of the late Margaret McCreight Farr and Edwin Francis Farr, of Columbia. She graduated from Dreher High School and attended Brenau College. She earned a Bachelor's degree in Education from the University of South Carolina in 1957 and was a member of Delta Delta Delta sorority. Barbara and Don married in 1957 and after completing a tour of duty in the Army, moved to Greenville, SC. Beloved for her steadfast loyalty to family, friends and community, Barbara was a long-time communicant of Christ Church Episcopal, serving many years on the Altar Guild. She was a dedicated teacher at Christ Church Episcopal School for 25 years, with a passion for instilling in her students an insatiable love of reading. After retirement, she continued to serve on the Board of Visitors and remained an active advocate for her school. She was a member of the Junior League of Greenville; Dorothy Haynesworth Garden Club; a charter member of the Metropolitan Club of Greenville; the Daughters of the American Revolution, where she cherished her role as Chaplain, and served on the Board of the Greenville Symphony. "Babbie" had a zest for travel, a talent for bridge, a designer's eye, a steady faith, a weakness for roses, camellias, and the Southern Magnolia,and a love of all things sweet, especially chocolate and any flavor of ice cream! Her refrigerator was always stocked with homemade pimiento cheese and a pitcher of sweet tea. Beyond her devotion to family and friends, and an occasional tendency to brag on her children, Babbie simply loved people; meeting them, greeting them, hugging them, teaching them, and most of all, talking to them, as long as someone was there to listen. The family would like to express their sincere gratitude to Monika Johnson, who provided the ultimate love and support to Barbara and the Harrison family for the past six years. Special thanks also to Margie Mansell, Barbara Enders, Linda Spurgeon, Cindy Boudreaux, the entire community at The Cascades and Homestead Hospice. Following a private interment, a celebration of her life will be held at 2 p.m. on June 28, 2016 at Christ Church Episcopal, 10 North Church Street, Greenville, SC, with the Reverend Harrison McLeod officiating. After the service, the family will receive friends in McCall Parlor. Patricia A. Peterson Irby Piedmont Mrs. Patricia A. Peterson Irby, 70, of 3 Kenmore Drive, Piedmont, passed away at Greenville Health System on Thursday, June 23, 2016. Born in Greenville, she was the daughter of the late William Joe and Thelma Leatherwood Peterson. Surviving: husband, John L. Irby; sons, Gregory Fitzgerald (Jasmine) Peterson of Greer and James A. (Stephanie) White of Columbia; sisters, Sandra Peterson of Mauldin, Judy Williams of Greenville, and Brenda (Bobby) Williams of Easley; brothers, Ronald (Carolyn) Peterson of Piedmont, Dennis (Annette) Peterson of Greenville, and Tony (Maria) Peterson of Anderson; three grandchildren, Alexandria S. Williams, Alyna White, and Jeremy White; and a host of other relatives and friends. Lindley, Frances - Pelzer  
Frances Lindley Pelzer Frances Oliver Lindley, 83, of 334 Island Creek Rd., Chesnee, SC went home to be with her beloved Lord and Savior Jesus Christ on June 25, 2016. She will be met there by her husband of fifty years, Robert Sydney Lindley, who went to be with our Lord in 2001. Frances was born on June 29, 1932 in Boiling Springs, SC; the daughter of the late James H. Oliver and Edna Cantrell Oliver. Most of her life was lived in Greenville, SC where she owned and operated Lindley Day Care at 8614 Augusta Road. Frances and Robert were members of Washington Baptist Church where she taught Sunday School for many years. She was well known as an excellent cook and for her selfless service to her Church and community. She is survived by her daughter, Melissa Phillips and son-in-law, Kirt Phillips as well as her grandson, Timothy Phillips. She spent the final years of her life with her cousin, Brenda Cantrell Lewis, husband Bill Lewis and their grandson, Merlin. Brenda was a tremendous blessing to Frances and her family. Frances also had many beloved cousins. Funeral services will be held on Sunday, June 26, at 3:00 p.m. at Washington Baptist Church. John Daryl Masters Simpsonville John Daryl Masters, 48, husband of Leslie Rhodes Masters, passed away Friday, June 24, 2016. Born in Greenwood, he was a son of Terry Lewis and Elaine Hunter Masters. Daryl was a Partner with Masters RV Centre in Greenwood. He attended Brookwood Community Church. Daryl loved boating, was a sports enthusiast, and above all enjoyed being with his family. Surviving in addition to his wife of 12 years, and mother and father, is a son, John "Jack" Daryl Masters II, and a daughter, Ava Camille Masters, both of the home; a daughter, Allison Elizabeth Masters; a son, David Zachary Masters, and fiancé Holly; a grandson, David Cruz Masters; a brother, Terry Lewis Masters, Jr., and wife, Kim; a nephew, Taylor Killian Masters; two nieces, Anna Colleen Masters and Margaret Reid Masters; and mother-in-law and father-in-law, Rebecca Arledge-Edwards and Doug Edwards. A visitation will be held Monday, June 27, 2016, from 6:00 PM until 8:00 PM at Thomas McAfee Funeral Home, Southeast. Jewell Lee Payne Greenville Jewell Lee Payne, 95, of Lullwater Road, passed away in Pinehurst, NC on Tuesday, June 22, 2016. Born in Blacksburg on September 9, 1920, she was the daughter of the late Lowell Edward and Ocey Sarratt Lee and the widow of William Hendrix Payne. Mrs. Payne graduated from Parker High School in 1937 and Draughn's Business College. She was a retired legal secretary from the Wyche Law Firm and a member of City View Frist Baptist Church and the Golden Circle Sunday School Class. She was a former member of the Greenville Association of Legal Secretaries and the John Blue Chapter of the United Daughters of the Confederacy. Surviving are daughter, Mary Elizabeth Helms and husband, Timothy; grandsons, Tristan Alan and William Jennings Helms, all of Aberdeen, NC; nieces, Cathy Jo Lee, Elizabeth Jewell Lee and Joan Kirksey Hooper; and nephew William Erskine Kirksey, Jr. She was preceded in death by a brother, Oswald Sarratt Lee. Visitation will be held Monday, June 27, 2016 from 11:00 to 11:45 a.m. at Thomas McAfee Funeral Home, Downtown. The funeral service will follow at 12:00 p.m. in the Downtown Chapel. Rudisill, Mark Bryan - Greenville  
Mark Bryan Rudisill 11/11/59 - 6/23/16 Greenville Mark Rudisill, son of Shirley Rudisill and the late William Plaxco (Rudy) Rudisill of Greenville SC died suddenly from a heart attack at the family home on Lake Keowee on the morning of June 23rd. Mark was born In Greenville Nov. 11, 1959 and graduated from Wade Hampton High School in 1978 and furthered his education at The College of Charleston and the Greenville Museum of Art. He was a lifelong lover of culture, history, art, movies and literature. His passion for these interests was only surpassed by his well-loved humor and intellect and especially his love of family and friends. He was extremely knowledgeable about and a student of religion and was steadfast in the Presbyterian Faith. Mark's career in the family business kept him involved in the building materials industry for nearly 30 years. Through his interest and knowledge in design he later was involved with antique restoration and retail as well as the home decor business. He leaves to cherish his memory his partner Brent Jay Rollins, his brother William P. Rudisill, Jr. (Penny), his sister Jennie Rudisill Morgan (Bob), his nieces and nephews, Bo Rudisill (Marge), Lauren Morgan Winchester (Chris), Robert Morgan Jr, Shirley Ann Morgan, John Holtzclaw (Melissa), Wendy Trammell (Charlie), Michael Holtzclaw (Leslie), his Aunt Barbara Shaw, Uncle Jack Williams, numerous cousins, great nieces and nephews and many, many friends. He loved his precious dogs, Andy and Amos. Services will be Monday June 27th at 4th Presbyterian Church with visitation starting at 2:30 PM and the Celebration of his life at 4 PM.
