Alice Ives Purser, 96, widow of Jack Moody Purser, Sr., died December 11, 2012 at The Cottages at Brushy Creek.
Born January 31, 1916 in Harrellsville, North Carolina, daughter of the late Sumner Albert and Gladys Sharp Ives, she was a graduate of Furman University, a homemaker, and an active member of Joyce Scott Chapter of The DAR. During Mr. Purser's civil service career, he and Mrs. Purser traveled the world, including Germany, France and Okinawa.
Surviving are a son and daughter-in-law, Jack M. Purser, Jr. and Kathie of Foley, Alabama; a daughter, Anne P. Hunter of Taylors; a grandson, Lance L. Hunter of Fayetteville, North Carolina; and many nieces and nephews.
In celebration of her life a memorial service will be held 1:00 p.m. Thursday, January 31, 2013 at First Presbyterian Church, Greer, conducted by Rev. Wayne Cole.
Visitation will be held 12:00-1:00 p.m. Thursday in the church social hall.
