Barbara "Bobbie" Reaves Nelson, 80, died January 7th, 2013 at McCall Hospice House after a courageous battle with cancer. Bobbie and her husband Holmes have been married for 60 years and are blessed with two daughters and sons-in-law: Salli Distler "Jake" and Andrew Joseph "Andy" Troyan and Juliana Distler "Nana" and Terry Brian Christy . Bobbie's life was made complete when she and Holmes were blessed with Juliana-Marie Nelson Troyan, their wonderful granddaughter whom Holmes lovingly gave the name "Jam". Bobbie also has 6 wonderful nieces and nephews.

Bobbie is predeceased by her parents Sallie Mae Gossett and Jesse Pearly Reaves and her only sister, Edna Mae "Nookie" Ellison. She also leaves friendships that lasted over the years with her dear friends, Joseph J. "Joe" Watson and Mary Lee Mowry. She is a Lutheran and retired from the Thirteenth Circuit Solicitor's Office in 1997.

Bobbie is a member of the United Daughters of the Confederacy, Daughters of the American Revolution (past National Defense Chairman of the Joyce Scott Chapter) The National Huguenot Society and appointed by the National Republican Congressional Committee to serve on the United States Business Advisory Council.

A memorial service will be held on January 10th at 1:30 PM at Redeemer Lutheran Church in Greer, SC with a private commitment service at Springwood Cemetery at a later date.

In lieu of flowers, feel free to make a donation to the in Bobbie's name. Cremation Society of South Carolina is serving the Nelson family.
