Bobby Carroll Hollingsworth


Bobby Carroll Hollingsworth, 78, of Easley, husband of Hilda Ellison Hollingsworth, died Sunday, February 24, 2013.

Born in Greenville, he was the son of the late Edgar Hollingsworth and Viola West Hollingsworth.

Prior to his retirement from Fluor Daniel as an electrical engineer, Bobby was the former owner of the Sommerset Golf Club, previously Paris Mountain Country Club. He also worked for Huntington and Guerry Electric Company, Davis Electric Company, and Hollingsworth Electric. Bobby was a member of Jones Avenue Baptist Church, where he was a member of the C.W. Lyle Sunday School Class, active in the bus ministry, president of the Young at Heart Senior Ministry, and was also on the Building and Grounds Committee. He was a Shriner and Lieutenant of the Lightweight Motorcycle Unit.

In addition to his wife, he is survived by two sons, Stephen Hollingsworth, and wife, Sharon, and Michael Hollingsworth, all of Easley.

Visitation will be held Monday, February 25, 2013, from 6:00 p.m. until 8:00 p.m. at Thomas McAfee Funeral Home, Downtown. The funeral service will be held Tuesday, February 26, 2013, at Jones Avenue Baptist Church at 1:30 p.m. Burial will follow at Woodlawn Memorial Park.

The family will be at the residence.

Flowers will be accepted, however, memorials may be made to Jones Avenue Baptist Church, 614 Ross Avenue Easley, SC 29640.
