Carolyn Emma Lee Ballenger Hawkins, 76, wife of the late Larry Hawkins, passed away on Saturday, August 24, 2013 at St. Francis Hospital.

Born in Greenville County on May 6, 1937, she was the daughter of the late Elmer and Edna Simmons Ballenger. Mrs. Hawkins was a very dedicated member of Belvue Baptist Church where she served in the Ladies Sunday School Class.

Surviving are her 2 children, Loraine (Roger) Beinhart and Jerry Hawkins; 6 siblings, Barbara (Milton) Carlson, Rebecca Ballenger, Don (Eloise) Ballenger, Kenneth (Lynn) Ballenger, Ricky (Audrey) Ballenger and Jan (Ervin) Prater; 1 sister-in-law, Marguerite Ballenger; 5 grandchildren, Samantha Hawkins, Charlie Cox, George Beinhart, Elizabeth Beinhart, Vicki Beinhart and many special friends.

Mrs. Hawkins was also predeceased by a brother, Cecil Ballenger.

The family will receive friends on Sunday at The Howze Mortuary from 6 p.m. until 8 p.m.

Funeral services will be held on Monday at Belvue Baptist Church at 11 a.m. with burial to follow at Coleman Memorial Gardens.

The family will be at the home of the sister, Jan Prater.
