Edward Powell Kelley, 75, husband of Martha Bailey Kelley for 48 years, went to be with the Lord on Tuesday, January 1, 2012.
Mr. Kelley was born March 11, 1937 in Walhalla to the late John Edward Kelley and Olive Lucy Powell Kelley. He retired from Daniel Construction, Metropolitan Sewer District, and the Greenville Housing Authority. He was a veteran of the U.S. Air Force
and a member of Bates Masonic Lodge #189 and the HEJAZ Shrine Club. He graduated from the inaugural class of Daniel High School and was an avid Clemson fan. Ed played the piano, organ, and trombone and enjoyed camping at the lake.
Surviving, in addition to his wife, are three sons and their wives, Mike and Wanda Kelley, John and Teresa Kelley, and Gary and Sandy Kelley; two daughters, Debbie Pierce and husband Joseph, and Donna Fox; a sister, Dianne Blair and husband Don; ten grandchildren and eight great-grandchildren; and his beloved dog "Andy." He was predeceased by a brother, Larry Kelley.
Funeral services will be 2 p.m. Friday at Fletcher Funeral Service, officiated by Rev. Douglas LeCroy and Rev. Charles Harding. Burial will be in Graceland East Cemetery. The family will receive friends for one hour prior to the service.
