Elizabeth Hudson Leman Dunson, 91, died Wednesday, October 3rd at her home. Born on September 22, 1921 in LaGrange, Georgia, she was the daughter of the late DeManville Abraham Leman and Louise Hudson Leman. She moved to Greenville in 1948, was a communicant of Christ Church Episcopal, and formally enjoyed membership in many organizations including the Junior League of Greenville, The Debutante Club and The Quadrille.
She is survived by three children: Anna D. Pressly and her husband, Jenks, William B. Dunson II and his wife, Merle, and Carolyn D. Israel and her husband, Bob. She was predeceased by her two sisters Louise Leman and Carolyn Leman and one daughter, Leigh D. Cherry. She is also survived by eleven grandchildren: Eden Cherry, Louise Cherry, Tru Pressly, CeCe Moose (Andy), Jenny Stewart (Will), Shelby Warkentein (Tyler), Sarah Powell (Grady), Brad Dunson, Will Israel (Katie), Brad Israel (Anna Louise), Susannah Israel and nine great grandchildren.
"Rannie" was an avid gardener and cook, happily passing on the knowledge of both to her children and grandchildren. She leaves behind a legacy of love and caring, strong values, a positive attitude, wise counsel, and a life of spunk and laughter.
A memorial service celebrating her life will be held for family in Markley Chapel at Christ Church.
