Gerald Gary Lynch, Sr.


Gerald Gary Lynch, Sr., 78, of Greenville, husband of Phyllis Wilson Lynch, died Sunday, February 10, 2013.

Born in Spartanburg, he was the son of the late Jay Dee and Ethel Duckett Lynch.

Mr. Lynch served in the US Navy during the Korean War and retired from Norfolk-Southern Railroad where he was a conductor.

He was a Shriner and a member of the Sam Poe Masonic Lodge #284.

In addition to his loving wife of 54 years, he is survived by daughters, Kathy Griffith and Gina Lynch Pranke (Keith) both of Greenville; sons, Gary Lynch (Denise) of Easley and Phillip Lynch (Lisa) of Piedmont; six grandsons; seven granddaughters; and five great grandchildren.

Visitation will be held Thursday, February 14, 2013 from 1:00 p.m. until 2:45 p.m. at Thomas McAfee Funeral Home, Northwest with the funeral service following at 3:00 p.m. in the Northwest Chapel. Burial will follow in Greenville Memorial Gardens.
